Air bypass valve
A couple of questions here:
1. Does the AEM CAI system that the Scion dealers sell need an air bypass valve or is the end of the CAI safe from the elements?
2. Does AEM make a V2 CAI for the tC?
3. Do you have one on your tC? Was it installed by the dealer? How much was it?

You dont need an air bypass valve if you dont plan to be driving through any floods soon. They are only needed in really rainy areas where flooding is a problem. Ofcourse getting one wont help and it is safer but they are not really necessary. You can drive in the rain and even drive through puddles just fine.
Im not sure if they make a V2 for the tc. If they do, I wouldent waste my money on it. They are way overpriced and arent much better than the regulars, Personally I wouldent even get the CAI, I would get the ram air intake (short one).
Also, dont pay anyone to install it. An intake is one of the simplest jobs, especially if you are installing a ram air intake (short). There really isnt much you can mess up, its just a few bolts.
