Exclamation QUICK, HELP! I've killed my tC! =[ (*UPDATE: new issues*)

Ok, so I was attempting the parking light/fog light mod found in this link here.

http://clubsciontc.com/forums/diy-in...ersible-30214/

Of the 3 options, I did the first one which involves simply moving the grey wire over into the green slot.

Now, when I started my tC, it immediately dropped to about 200-300 rpm at idle. I can tap the gas and it rev's just fine, doesn't bog or anything, but it drops back to that low idle as soon as you take your foot off the gas. As far as I can tell, everything else works just fine (though I think my passenger sight parking light may have died v.v).

Anyone know what my problem may be? I'm in a bit of a hurry, so any quick advice would be awesome!

If you disconnected the battery it's the ECU relearning (any power mods on the car?) so just let it run and idle for about 10-15 minutes and you will be fine.

This didn't happen when I installed my CAI 2-3 years ago. And I had the battery unplugged then.

I reversed it back to original wiring, but the same thing is happening. It WILL idle, but very low.

Just tried letting it idle and it did come back up. If any new problems arise, I'll let you guys know. Thank you for the help, Emperor! I was cutting it off before this had time to happen because I was afraid the incredibly low idle may hurt more than anything.

No problem man. Low idle won't really hurt anything other than may eventually stall the car if it went to low..but if that happens you have some problems lol what you described is generally what happens when you disconnect then reconnect the battery.

Alright, so I decided to redo the mod since my car started running properly after a few minutes. But, it didn't take long at all before BOTH my parking lights burnt out. I followed the write-up mentioned in the OP step-by-step, reading it several times before, and going back to it between each step. I might add that I was cautious not to allow anything to touch where it shouldn't during the whole ordeal even though there was no power to it, and the exposed bit of the pin was properly wrapped in tape as well.

My new problem, I noticed shortly after going through the procedure the first time that the passenger side parking light had died, and just decided to assume it was coincidence. But when picking up my girlfriend shortly after, the other one had deceased as well.

I can't seem to find any electrical diagrams for the 2007 tC that will help me any. So if any of you electrical gurus can help, I'd love it! (my schooling is for industrial junk, I dunnonuthin' bout this car electronics)

It worked in the sense that my fog lights came on with the parking lights. But the parking lights burned out within 30 minutes of run-time. One of them died within a minute or two.

why dont you have the fogs come on with just the switch that was supplied with the fog light kit?? i got the VRD fogs and mine would only turn on with the headlights like how you said and i just cut a wire and everything works likes a charm...
