Hey everyone,

I am looking to add one of the Yakima roof racks on my 2011 XB. I have no idea what size I need, or where to get it. I also want one of the front fairings (wind deflector) for it that says YAKIMA on it. I have seen how they come in different sizes and I was just wondering from those of you with one...

1. what size did you order?
2. what size wind deflector/fairing?
3. who did you order from?

Feel free to post pics of yours. I am very curious to see how these racks attach/hold onto the car.

Looking to order one ASAP! Thank you all

Go to the Yakima site for all your answers:
http://www.yakima.com

Click on "Fit My Car" at the top, but use 2008, 09, or 10 for the year; they don't have 2011 in their system yet, and the roofs are all the same.

It will then give you all the part #'s for the Q-towers, Q32-clips, and 58" crossbars.

You can also get accessory SKS lock cores, as well as the fairing, and various other storage/racks/straps depending on your needs.

Once you have the part #'s, you can then price shop the interwebz.

Go to the Yakima site for all your answers:

x2.

1. Yakima.com will have your answers for that.
2. 50'' Fairing is what you'll need.
3. I got mine from searching around craigslist... Q-towers I bought for $75, Crossbars for $25, 2 bike attachments for $75, the only thing I bought new was Q-clips and the Fairing.

If you order all new parts it'll get real expensive real quick, but if you have some time to search the web and settle for good used parts.

I got Q towers, bars, basket, bike attachment and locks.

In all thats like 6-700$ in parts.

Use craigslist to get all the right part numbers then piece it together on craigslist. It'll take a few weeks but trusts me you will save Hundreds.

Be careful if you leave the rack on all the time: the silicone pads on the towers do rub into the paint after a period of time. I'm thinking of getting a couple squares of the clear film overlay to put on the wear points. Granted, I have an ash carrier rack fitted on my Yakima's and carry plywood and lumber on it, so it has a bit more stress.

Sweet pics Mdiesel64 (http://scionlife.com/forums/member.php?u=188306)!

KaneoheKoa (http://scionlife.com/forums/member.php?u=193014), I actually put some clear vinyl under all points of contact when before installing it. I got a 12"x24" sheet of clear vinyl from www.decalfx.com (http://www.decalfx.com) and used scissors and VIOLA!

Thanks for the heads up though!
