for those of you guys who have tein basics or raceland coilovers, i just wanna know which ones go lower? i heard the racelands are bouncier than the tein basics, but i dont really care about comfort. so, anyone out there who know, hit me up.

i've done installs for both and definately racelands go lower but i'd trust the basics more than racelands.

You will end up damaging more than just the suspension by going too low. Axles, tires, bushings, etc. I would suggest the basics.

Any peeps out there have pics of their basics and/or racelands slammed so I can see the comparisons. I've seen Uyles and DPT852 slammed on racelands and Iheartzombies slammed on the tein basics. But when zombies had it slammed, it was on the stockies. I kinda wanna see the pics around the same wheel specs as mine. I have 18x8 et37 and the tires are 215/35. Btw, what exactly is wrong with the racelands other than the price being so cheap? Cuz I'm kinda thinking people are just hating on them because they are very inexpensive.

Though slammed may look good to you, its not good to use on a DD. Like Dezod said it can easily damage a lot of parts. Go with a trusted name in suspension like Tien, or if you want to be slammed go air bags.

IMO I would look at h&r, f&f, or b&g coils rather then teins.

jeremy - the racelands thread probably has all the info you will ever need..tein basics might be a bit of a hunt compared to those.

As far as anything being wrong with racelands it seems people have posted a lot about them going bad or having something intially wrong with them, however, raceland seems to have excellent customer service so if something were to go wrong they would take care of you.

Take a look at the brands I mentioned in my previous post (if you haven't already) all are great coilovers for going low and are priced fairly close around the cost of tein basics (except maybe the B&G's)

Yes it was. He asked a simple question.
Ones saying dont go to low because it will damage axles ect. Yet your telling him to go with B&Gs that will deff damage your axles and damage other parts. This thread is about Racelands and Tein basics

I never said anything about damaging axles. I simply offered him a particular coilover he may not have considered. If he has considered them then fine, between the two, like I said, racelands will go lower.

2^ It seems like he wants to go low enough to where he damages the axles(as was posted earlier). Even then, if he were to get B&G as mentioned above he can set the height as low as Raceland and ride comfortable as B&G has dampening adjustment. He doesn't have to lower the setup to the max(or take out perch rings to get really low) when it's not necessary, but it's there if he chooses to. If it's down to those two choices...:lalala:

He was asking about Racelands because he offered me to trade his basics for my racelands with cash on my side of course, and is trying to do his research before he trades me. In this situation, I am going to lose money, going to higher my ride since basic dont go as low and he is going to have racelands which no one apparently likes, and might have to sacrifice some comfort. Yet im going to have Teins and he is going to be lower which he desired to do

why don't you just slam the basics and see for yourself instead? not that hard....just takes 30 mins to do all 4 corners.

Sorry I didn’t mention before. I already have tein basics. Im bascically asking these question because I was thinking about trading with frankiietc for his racelands plus cash on his side. I just wanted to know a few things before I actually do the trade.

@XIEmperorIX yeah, ive heard a lot about raceland's customer service and how they can easily replace blown shocks or anything broken. The thing is, im probably gonna be getting racelands seconhand from frankiietc. Would raceland still do the warrantee replacement if something breaks since im going to be the second owner to these? Btw, I would absolutely LOVE to get B&G’s but im kind of low on $$. Plus I don’t wanna buy another set of coils when I already have basics. That’s why im doing the trade for thr RLs to go lower.

And exactly how would I go about doing a replacement for racelands IF anything were to break? Would I just call up their office, explain to them what’s wrong, and they give me a replacement? Would I need a receipt? It says on the raceland website “Raceland offers a 2 year warranty with free replacement if properly installed by a licensed mechanic.” Me and frankiietc were just gonna do the install ourselves, not by a mechanic. Would that matter?

@ jeremy - I can't imagine why they wouldn't warranty the coilovers as long as they are still within their warranty period. I've heard great things but their customer service so I'm sure they would at least try to help you out if something goes wrong with them. As long as you have the receipt you should be fine.

I found it straight crappy that he would come in and talk about "Taking advice from certain members" and come to find out he's basically trying to talk up his crap that is for sale. Thats a bad seller.

@frankiietc Just because your axles aren't damaged right now, doesn't mean their not being hurt by sitting too low. It's not going to be something that one day is fine, then suddenly its bad after a suspension install. I suggest you take your own advice and research how dropping suspension geometry on these cars, or any car for that matter actually affects the handling and accelerate wear and tear on the vehicle. And next time, don't talk smack in a thread just to promote a deal that you are working on.

@Jeremy. A license mechanic does not need to install these. It's simply raceland trying to cover their butts in case something goes wrong. I suggest, like said earlier to read through the raceland thread and see what people have to say.

im choosing megan coilovers over the racelands since they dont have damper adjustments and camber plates.

also megan is ready to install. i hate taking the springs out..
