Default Ditch trouble *56k Warn*

Well, I had my first accident that was my fault.

I was on a dirt road, and went around a corner and lost traction due to this sudden patch of gravel. And my xB went flying into a ditch of mud and water about 3 feet deep. If my driving wheel was not the one stuck in the mud, I would have been able to get out of the thing. Anyway. I took it to the dealership and they want $2,500 for parts and labor. I am insured so I will just let them handle it, but will stay on top of them. I should have it back by next Thursday. Suprisingly there was not too much damage, beside the rocker panel, the wheel well, and my right bumper was chipped off compleatly. The power steering is messed up, and need a realignment. I have some pictures, but they are not very good, I was not in the best mood when I took them.

And just asking..........What are you doing with that pry bar under the left front tire?

Look at the bright side, now we all know xB's can't compete in the rally j/k j/k

Sorry to hear about the box... Just looking at the pics make me cringe! Do you think that better tires would have prevented the accident?

haha, thanks for the replies. Yeah, $2,500 is a bit much. The adjuster came out and gave the price, and my dealer agreed with it. They will be replacing the Rocker Panel, the two grills, and the two piece fron bumper, a hub cap, the windshield canister, alignment, wheels well repair, power steering, and painting everything.. I have a $500 deductable, so regardless of how much this is going to cost, I only pay 500 bucks.

Do I think better tires would help? Yeah, but I still would not know what to do if I found myself at a loss of traction. The rear of my car went to the right, and I, stupidly turned the the left.... Also I should not have slammed on my brakes. And maybe I should have pulled the e-brake, and try to gain control with my front wheels.. But I found my self in shock, no matter what tires were on my car, I still would have done something wrong..

Everyone was ok, we were laughing actually.... AAA took about 2 hours to find me and took me to a gas station. And there was this guy working there, and he came running out, I had no clue who he was. It turned out he had a xA arond the corner that I could not see. He wanted to know what happened, and if everyone was ok. I thought that was nice of him. He also offered me his TRD 18" with Pirelli's for $700, because he has a new set on order that should show up soon. So everything turned out great. Except when the tow truck man pulled off with my car, my e-brakes were on, and he drug my xB a few 100 feet, until I ran over there and told im to stop. So there are two HUGE skid marks on the concrete of the gas station..

I am really glad no one was hurt, if Joelle got hurt.. I would never forgive myself. I trust that my dealer will get my Camo looking beautiful again.

But no kidding, xB=NO dirt roads, i thought i would have more control over the vehicle, but you have non, just like ridding on lumpy ice..

I know what you mean by a mysterious accident, someone tore up my mothers left bumper while she was watching a play, $750 in paint repair. I am really glad you like my PShopped picture, alot of people dont like it, at least my friends down here. I do not know how well that picutre blew up, put here is the hi-res site: http://images7.fotki.com/v152/file3E...on_edited5.jpg. 56k, I am not trying to be funny, do not click on that link.

Why are the overalls funny? Should he be wearing an Armani suit?
