Anyone put in xD fog lights or know the best ones to put in if there are any on the market?
Like everyone, I am trying to get some that I don't have to spend an arm and a leg to buy...

Thanks!

Try looking for OEM ones on eBay or something like that - they'll look the best anyway.

Did you have the lights installed? If not, did you encounter any difficulties when running the wires through the driver's side firewall?

Here are some of the pictures from this weekend. Relatively easy install did not run into any issues. Also added in LED lights to light up the floor in front of each passenger and the driver's feet...looks great during night driving!

I searched on ebay to find the best buy and I bought a product with the title" Scion xD fog light kit by MWW Automotive." The seller is "texastoyota."

If you search it on ebay you can see what comes with the purchase. Basically everything you need for it including a nice on/off switch (which I drilled into the back of the small storage compartment to the left of the driver on the dash.

They fit in easily, and the instructions were great. As for those I think I threw them out but I will check when I get home! It is well worth the purchase, and they ship really quickly!!

J evans, the instructions call for a cable to go through the firewall. That firewall is near the battery and they suggest that you use a wire hanger. However, I have been encountering difficulties with that. Did you find that difficult to do? Any tips or ideas so that I can run the wire?

I actually am an assistant tennis coach, and the head coach owns his own mechanic shop, so basically I just helped him out but he did most of the work.

As for the wire hanger...he knew he was going to do that even before he read the instructions. He basically just bent the hanger to make it straight, stuck it through the firewall, and then taped the wire to the hanger. He then pulled from the opposite side and took off the tape when he was done.

All in all, he said it was a pretty easy thing to do, (the only hard part was getting the wires un-tapped hah) He taped it so that it would not come off when he was pulling it through the fire wall.

I am meeting up with him on Saturday again to put some vinyl on the car on the front bumper so if you have anymore questions and I cannot answer them myself I can always ask him and report back Saturday or Sunday night.

i ran enough wires that way already (my mobile fire scanner, sub/amp, lighting kit) that i knew about the wire hanger.

I already have a switch above the driver's side compartment for my interior lighting, wonder if i could fit another there...

Nice!! Yeah I don't see why not, should be enough space.

I had no idea about the wire hanger so when he did it I couldn't believe it would actually work haha

So, I should expect the hanger to come near the mirror control switch, near a small storage space, right? Thanks for those who have contributed to this thread, should be made a sticky, mods.

Theres a thread.on here somewhere about running power wire.for amps.through.a factory grommet. Its very detailed and has pics and will help you greatly for doing this. Id look it up, but im on my phone and that would take forever. Btw. Remove your battery from under the hood, m akes this.easier. I meant to add that you can use this same grommet for your power for your fog lights switch, just so theres no confusion. its late here

Yeah I would definately look it up if its somewhere in here. I am good friends with a mechanic who did just about all the work ( I helped with just aiding him and getting the tools ). But yes, removing the battery makes it much easier.

Julian_xD...Yes, when we put the wire through the firewall, he actually took out the small storage space your taking about and drilled the hole for the switch in the back of it and it fit perfectly. I keep them on all the time (directions said to hook them up to the lights..so when you turn on your lights, they come on) so I never use the switch.

He didn't want to drill into the dash incase something happened...then I would have a lovely drill hole in my dash lol
