Help?? FrankenScion 03-07-2005, 02:58 AM Rural mail carrier? killerxromances 03-07-2005, 03:12 AM Let the jokes fly! But i think it would be cool.. xtremeOrange 03-07-2005, 03:25 AM It'd be far cheaper to just import a bB... you'd have to completely re-design the interior, re-organize the engine compartment probably, and redo the steering. Now go pass safety standards.. good luck. Import a bB and save yourself the headache. crayonBOX 03-07-2005, 04:08 AM from what ive seen done to a crx in my area by my friend...he mentioned something about a 'front clip' (basically front end;/dash, steering, pedals, tranny...?) and attaching that to his usdm civic crx.. though if you find out on importing a bb, seriously pm me about it.. ive been looking into the same.. ~hitesh killerxromances 03-07-2005, 05:28 AM Yeah, but i haven't found any RHD conversion kits nor clips. (i've seen clips for integras) so i don't know. Importing a Bb would be freaking awesome, but i really don't have the money to do that right now unless i some how found someone to do an even trade! HAHAHA yeah, right. Thanks for all the input guys. bB2NER 03-07-2005, 05:33 AM RHDVIPbB in Louisville is working with an outfit in I think FL to get a bB or opendeck imported over here. I'd get ahold of him and checkitout killerxromances 03-07-2005, 05:39 AM Do that and let me know asap!!! JdMBboFSD 03-07-2005, 07:14 AM ahhh....ummm There is currently one JDM bB in the US, that was owned by someone in the LA area, someone at a SoCAL dealership, non-registered that why you dont see it drivin around. RHD bB front clips are not in high demand, will not find any ......On top of that if you do get the clip you will have to cut it a little past the firewall and then spot weld the front clip on ....Not very safe and big headache ....dont do it....then if you live in CALI ....14 mo process to get it registered ....Blah Blah ...Im done... :P unlmtdndeavor 03-07-2005, 08:22 AM definately not worth it. just get a bB and build it for show. plus rhd isnt safe on our roads anyways, u cant see around corners FrankenScion 03-07-2005, 12:33 PM definately not worth it. just get a bB and build it for show. plus rhd isnt safe on our roads anyways, u cant see around corners I drive RHD at work everyday and I'm noy sure where this statement comes from. I can see fine. Cockpit_XB 03-07-2005, 03:08 PM RHD conversions are bad ___, but sometimes they're too much of a headache that most places dont want to sit there & convert your car. Good luck in your search. JdMBboFSD 03-07-2005, 03:10 PM definately not worth it. just get a bB and build it for show. plus rhd isnt safe on our roads anyways, u cant see around corners i dont drive one everyday, but i have drove this one a few times: http://www.vipstylecars.com/Chauncey/HT/8.jpg Its not that you cant see the corners, you perception of the curb is different. Obviously if you are making a right in a RHD car the curb will be a little closer and you tend to take a wider turn so you wont hit the curb, but you can also look out the window to see how close you are.....another thing is mastering the U-Turn, very fun, you end up driving forward to a safe distance then turning, because again you dont want to hit the curb..... As for the safetyness of the car, you are correct on that, because in Japan they dont require bumper supports, that means you get it hit, everything gets crushed.....also many more things, headlight pattern, blah blah ...again .... killerxromances 03-07-2005, 06:01 PM Anyone know a price range i am looking at importing a Bb? If you really want that, I know somebody that has one in the US and it's for sale. I don't know how much, but I'll ask, I think last time I checked he wanted something in the ball park of $10,000. killerxromances 03-08-2005, 05:01 PM yeah, im definitely interested. thanks! ScionVan 03-09-2005, 12:08 AM Toll bridges and fast food drive thrus will be interesting in a rhd car also. There is no "kit" per se to convert the xB to rhd because, if there was, then it wouldn't be unique, which is what you're after. I think lots of time and effort and money and headaches can be saved trying to make your own usdm xB unique in other ways, vs. trying to deal with importing and registering a jdm bB. And even if you do get the car over here, IF you run into issues trying to reg the car, you'll end up having a piece of $10000-15000 metal sitting in your garage for a loooong time as you try and work through all the bs in trying to get it totally legal to drive. mill0048 03-09-2005, 12:37 AM http://www.japanvehicles.com/ http://www.batfa.com/ JdMBboFSD 03-09-2005, 02:17 AM Anyone know a price range i am looking at importing a Bb? CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 02:57 PM I converted my LHD 01 Mercury Cougar to RHD. Granted it is a show car but I did the conversion myself... Once you get all the parts, its not that hard of an install. bassist1217 01-29-2006, 02:38 AM what kind of cash would i be looking at laying down to convert an xB to RHD? Max2k 01-29-2006, 03:22 AM I can see why you would [i]want[i] to convert a car to RHD, but I really really do not understand why someone would actually go through with this. I plan on doing a firewall swap on her crv this summer. front clips for them are around 800.00 or so given they are not that common. but the rural carrries love the awd drive of the crv just need rhd. just my 02cents. Motor-FX 02-01-2007, 11:57 PM The Bb doesn't come in stick, It would be a waste of money, A lot of welding to do Motor-FX 02-02-2007, 12:02 AM Bb come with column shifters, like most American cars. The Bb has bench seats like the rear Bsbox 03-01-2007, 04:19 PM Rural mail carrier? It would be nicer than driving a RHD Jeep Wrangler. :silly: doggy 03-03-2007, 06:07 PM Just in case, after a month i will have a bB 03' year coming home, witch i will be totaly parting out, and whole RHD convo will be for sale if some one would be intrested. This car has perfect interior + wood dash trim... As i dont need these parts at all - i would let them on sale pretty cheap... Only problem is that im in Europe, so shipping might be a bit crazy, but i shipped LHD convo from USA for my celica - and shipping was about 400$ for whole parts, including steering gear / firewall / and all other heavy convo parts... bBlover 03-03-2007, 07:35 PM If you imported a bB couldn't you just weld the bumper supports from a xB and put xB bumpers on and then wouldn't it be legal to drive (excluding the other things for customs at least) bb20inches 12-18-2007, 12:54 PM hey did u ever get the bb rhd conversion let me know pm or email doggy 12-18-2007, 04:30 PM Soon enouth i will have another RHD Bb - so if anyone would be intrested in getting all the parts needed for RHD Conversion - let me know. bb20inches 12-18-2007, 04:32 PM i would what kind of money are we talking looking at doing a firewall swap to the 1st gen xb to be a postal truck. doggy 12-19-2007, 06:32 PM Dont know about the money, but i would include everything, including RHD mirrors, Dash (full), steering gear, column shifter and etc - i did lots of RHD to LHD conversions - so i know all the pats would be needed to go for RHD. Btw - after looking at Xb firewall and wirings - it seems that there would not be a lot of hastle to make RHD from LHD. bb20inches 12-19-2007, 06:36 PM its close to the same on both sides lhd rhd but it would be bust to swap lhd to rhd firewall right hotbox05 12-21-2007, 07:05 PM postal truck? what? bb20inches 12-21-2007, 11:06 PM ya they use scions alot here but have to seat kinda in the middle to reach everything she has a crv now but hard to find rhd parts to change it over and jeeps are crap 4wd got stuck the first day out TorchedPerfection86 12-26-2007, 06:42 PM doggy are u going to be parting out the entire bB? If so im interested in a couple of things Let me know bb20inches 01-08-2008, 01:15 AM let me know when u know more |
