View Full Version : HOW DO YOU TAKE OFF STOCK SHIFT KNOB? zScIoNtC 03-07-2005, 05:32 AM I have my tC coming in in a matter of days and I all ready have waiting the PIAA bulbs footpedals, extra neon interior lights, heel plate, yada yada yada. I want to go out and buy a shift knob but I need to know how the stock one comes off. On my Civic it just unscrewed, cut the boot and put on the new shift knob. Tell him to hold the shift knob tightly. 3) Have your other friend lift the rear of the car and you can lift the front. 4) Spin the whole car clockwise Repeat in reverse to install your new knob. But seriously, your question is legit. Some cars have knobs that screw off while others need to be yanked off or even have the boot cut.
