My passenger side rear wheel is more flushed out compare to the driver side.

the clearance(mark on yellow arrow) on passenger side is a bit narrower compare to driver side.
The question is:
Does anyone notice the same in your xB?
I can't find the thread that discussed this before, so I want to verify it again, and wanted to know Scion's explanation.

not a good shot but, see how passenger side is more flushed out compare to driver side?
2nd question is the clearance of the wheel to fender side, not the skirt.

I know, but can't find that thread. I don't remember Scion tech answering why.

scions front nead wheels 1\4 to 1\2 spacers on aftermarket rims i've done about a dozen or so

BTW, there is no noticeable vibration and the car still drives straight(no hands on steering).
CBSIMONSEZ 03-07-2005, 08:55 PM The difference in the rear is from the factory The drivers side sits in more then the passenger side does. If it bugs you that much, then get a set of 3MM and 5MM wheels spacers. Put the 5MM on the drivers side, and the 3MM on the passenger side. This should level it out a little better.
The wheel shimmy up front may be from several things. First, check to make sure that all the lug nuts are tightened. Then, check the PSI in the front wheels. I had the shimmy, and brought the PSI up to 33 PSI on each of the fronts, and the shimmy has all but gone away. If this doesnt work, then you will need a set of hub centric rings. This device will make sure that the wheels are centered on the hub while you are installing the wheels. Sometimes the wheels are exactly centered, and this can throw off the driving. Hope that helps.

thanks, I did check the tire pressure and set it to 35 psi. Yes I don't have centric rings, but slowly and carefully torque(cross pattern) the nuts evenly when I mounted it. I drove the car to 60mph and did not notice any vibration.
I will still get the rings($5) as soon as its available(54.1-67) in my nearest tire shop.

bB2NER 03-07-2005, 09:28 PM Yes, The rings are nice because you can hand tighten the lugs on the rear, then lower the jack and finish the tightening the lugs. Also it takes some of the weight off the studs and places it on the center hub.
luckydog 03-08-2005, 12:07 AM have someone drive behind you and see if the front and rear wheels track along the same line. the car can still go straight but the frant wheels and rear wheels run in different tracks. more common than you might think if that is the case they need to be aligned to the same thrust line. has the car ever been rear ended? to me the way there are now should not be considered normal.
