I was wondering if you all have had any problems with the hitch scraping the ground. There are several dips on my street and my driveway is kind of steep and I am concerend about hitting them if I put the hitch on.
And all in all how satisfied are you all with the hitch setup? I want to use it for a bike rack mainly, but I was also thinking about getting one of those flat tray setups that I could carry other things on.

I have not had it happen yet, but I could see this being a problem.
I would suggest you make a small cardboard box, or something like a duct taped rag, and put it under the bumper, toss a few bodies in the back for weight, and see if you loose it or scrape it up.
The drop is just shy of 2 1/4 inches. with the chain rings. Its 5" wide and about 8" deep.
The lowest spot is just under the bumper with the chain rings.
I was going to lower my box someday, but it looks like the hitch would need to go.
The perfect hitch would be set back and raised up level with the bumper, and the insert could just slide in. kinda shaped like a U to fit under the bumper.
I may modify this one like that when I lower it. I'll take lots of pics if I do.
Other than that it works great. I pull a small trailer like this guys with a roof carrier on it.

It has no tong weight so the ride hight does not change with it hooked up.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the great idea. I think next weekend I'll rig something up and see how it goes.
If anyone else has had any experiences please let me know.
