Default mid pipe remvoal help

i have a tusudo mid pipe that i want to install and have tried numerous times. i cant find a way to get the 2 bolts off that are near the cat. when i brought my car into Toyota to get a new clutch/ flywheel i had them take off the bolts and grease them up or whatever and i tried to get it off again but no luck..if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same problem....but i striped the bolt.. so i used the bolt cutter and cut the head off the bolt. then i tried those clamping pliers (what ever there called) to get a grip of the bolt and tried to twist it loose...but that didnt work also. then i just drilled out the remaining bolt. finally i used a thread-maker tool. and it all worked out....

hope this helps

Let them soak in some pb blaster for 30 minutes. Then give them another try. I had the same problem and they came off much easier.

^Agree. I had the same problem when changing my S-pipe, the header bolts were a lot easier than the mid-pipe bolts. Also, what are you using to break the bolts loose? I soaked them and used a breaker bar.

WD40 and some elbow grease should do the trick.

I'm in the same situation, I've tried 3 times now to get those bolts out with no luck. Tried penetrating oil, breaker bar, and impact wrench and they still won't budge. The weather here makes everything so rusty, I'm just going to cut them off next month.

They're all like that, I just used a bar over the ratchet to get more leverage.

I let them soak in PB Blaster then used that method, they eventually came out.

if there rusted to a point where there goona give you issues when tighting back up,i would just have them cut and install new bolts, cause when i put my midpipe on,the bolts were rusted to a point where nothing would grip on it,and even if it did,it would round the bolt,so i just had my local shop cut the bolts up and while he was under there,i had them but in my new midpipe along with the supplied bolts that came with it,
so this way the next time i need to take it back out,ill be easier

ive soaked them in WD 40 and i am using a ratchet with a pipe on the end for more leverage. and Toyota said they got em off. but i feel like if they did they tightened them up to much.

If you have access to an impact wrench I think that would be your last resort before cutting the bolts.

A lot of people like the tsudo mid pipe. I have the catback tsudo exhaust and enjoy it. It's loud but I get compliments on it even from the muscle car guys.
