Hi. I'm new here. I drive a 1983 Chevrolet El Camino. I am hoping to get an Xb soon. My only problem is, I'm 18, and I don't know what kind of insurance to get. Right now my El Camino has full insurance, through my dad. I really want an Xb. What kind of insurance do you guys have, and could you give me some pointers.

Carry full coverage, no matter who you get your insurance through, unless you can afford to take the loss if something happens to the xB. Play is safe.

Go through your dad; it will save you a lot of money and protect you too.

If you are financing the car and making payments, you will be required to carrry full coverage. I suggest looking into Progressive, they gave me a decent rate---- but be prepared because AZ insurance is expensive as f*ck no matter who you go through, it's pretty ridiculous. I am 32 year old, I have a clean record and I pay $200/mo to insure a car that costs $320/mo. It's really absurd...

Selling the El Camino? Well if you already have the El Camino through your dad might as well get the xB also and drive safe. I had insurance with my Dad when I was 18 and I screwed him over. Well kind of. Got into a bad accident and it had a dumb law suit. It eventually got settled but I no longer had insurance with my Dad after that and I paid mucho bucks after that. NYC sucks to get insurance. So glad I don't live there anymore for that fact alone. Pay like 1/4 what I used to pay. Actually pay less for full coverage for what I paid for basic liability.

Well guys. I f-cked myself up on this one This morning I crashed me Camino. So I probably won't be getting an Xb, or at least anytime soon. Thanks for your input.

i'm an insurance agent and i live in the worst city for insurance, some companies can't have high deducatables due to toyota financial not excepting them, yet others can.

Like Farmers has a 250 dedutable for the bank no matter your deductable, probably could work you under 200 a month for insurance if you've had 6 months prior, good student, and god willing you live in a good zip code
