I see that Nology HotWires are out now (or maybe have been out for a while haha), anyways, just wondering what your opinions are on these. And maybe give some other alternatives for one who wants to change the spark plug wires.
ok thanks :P

I spent about 15-20 min on the phone with the Lead tech guy at Nology yesterday, his name is Jeff Klein. We discussed the wires and why a customer should switch to their setup. It was a very interesting conversation and being my close friend owns Vitek Performance, I was estastic to see this guy knew what he was talking about instead of a sales man simply trying to make you buy a product. The Stock coil pack is very small and only give a lil spark to each cylinder. With the nology relocation coil-on conversion, it will allow the spark to build up and give more to each cylinder. Nology is claiming a 2-5% increase in power. I am looking to dyno this sometime in the near future to see.

I thought the tc was already coil on plug?

I will get a review on these up when I install them. I have purchased these from Creative Compacts yesterday and should get them next week. I will have my valve cover powdercoated and put the wires on sometime next week probably.

I remember seeing someone on the clubsciontc(http://www.clubsciontc.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2796) forums bought this, but has not received it yet. i'm hoping that the gains will be enough for me to consider these, or if it's all a gimmick (the capacitor thingy) :P

well if its only 2% that wont be worth 180 bucks but maybe 5% because that would be around 6hp at peak possibly which is close to an intake for about 50 less.

CreativeCompacts

But it will provide power on all the mods... so you should see the hp increase on your other bolt ons as well

Hmm good point wasn't thinkin about it that way and could you still use the Weapon R Ignition Equalizer with it. Also are you going to start caring more weapon r products?

does having the wires make your spark plugs make hotter sparks in the proccess? cuz if so that wouldnt that be bad for those who have nitrous or high boost?

I am good friends with the owner of WR... I should be meeting him up on Friday while I am on my business trip to Cali. I carry the entire line... what are you looking for?

The engine dampers and ignition equalizer that they make... I would rather order from you guys than prostreetonline.com because you have better prices and service.

The tC is already Coil on plug. Does this convert it to a coilpack w/ wires? The description is kinda vague.

just get yourself some 8 gauge wire and make the ground wires yourself. cost-$20.

yea, i thought that all the new toyotas were distributorless, not needing spark plug wires..

I would highly recommend not using this sort of crap. The stock ignition system is not lacking in any way. Why add wires to a system that needs none? The things naieve people spend their money on......

well if its been proven to increase performance then I guess the ignition system is lacking enough...

SupaWhiteTc

Yes retard it would double the HP!! I don't know why people like Scott17 even bother posting here. If we wanna do this mod let us do it and don't hate on us. Somebody has to try it and see if it works like they say. If it works on the EVO then I am sure it works on the TC.

Scott17

Yes retard it would double the HP!! I don't know why people like Scott17 even bother posting here. I posted because there are a lot of young, inexperienced guys on this forum (like yourself) who don't seem to have enough common sense to find their _______s with a funnel. None of this crap is new, hell, J C Whitney built an empire selling this stuff! I am a MDT who has a bit of experience working on Toyotas, and I actually understand how they work. I also have cultivated a little common sense over the years and try to put it to good use from time to time. But' as you surely know, it's your money and you are perfectly entitled to waste it as you wish. :lalala:

SupaWhiteTc
03-14-2005, 08:41 PM
Yes you might know about Toyota's but if they have dyno proven it then I believe it works. Now if they just made up some happy horse crap about it I probably wouldn't have bought them. It may not add a lot of power but it adds a little and every little bit helps on the TC which has little power. Just because coil on plug is supposed to be the best doesn't mean that there is not room for improvement on the system.

Scott17
03-14-2005, 11:10 PM
Who dyno'd it? The guy selling it to you?(this is where the common sense part comes into play) Is this HP gain greater than common dyno error percentage? What principal of physics would indicate that this setup would be better than stock? If you can answer these questions correctly, you'll surely make the right choice.

SupaWhiteTc
03-15-2005, 03:20 AM
Well the gain on the stock motor was like 3whp but when added with other bolt on mods the gains can see as much as 7-8whp. It may not be substancial but it is better than nothing I suppose.

KYBoy
03-15-2005, 03:36 AM
in order to get a dyno from someone other than the guy selling it, someone has to buy it.
i hope it works for you SupaWhiteTc

With a name like Scott17, you wonder why he has the 17 in his name? We will see if our company can do a dyno pull on the hot wires when Scion gets us the car next month. Until then, its up to the customer if they want to do this mod. It is proven the Stock spark is very weak.

SupaWhiteTc
03-15-2005, 05:58 PM
Well I plan on going back to the dyno in the next couple of weeks to see what the Exhaust, Header, Hot Wires and Weapon-R Intake will add.

Oh yeah, I forgot, you probably haven't gotten ALL his money yet!  I am however interested in this experiment. When all is done please be sure to post up the total HP increase with all these wonderful mods and lets see the HP gained per dollar spent ratio.(if any) This would really be good info for everyone. Just wondering, do your unrealistic HP gains have a money-back guarantee?

I GUARANTEE that you won't notice any performance gains, BUT they won't take anything away from the car either! They sure make the engine bay look nice though and all your friends will be real impressed! For a limited time they will be 5% off. Want to know how? Ok Scott17 list what mods you have done to your slow ___ toaster and then we will see who has better mods. Until I see that you have anything to make fun of me for I still believe you are an idiot. I know probably as much if not more about my car then you I have owned toyotas and swapped motors on toyotas and I am damn sure I know just as much as you mister know it all. I will be going to the dyno and I will show you the gains I recieve from the Intake, Header, and Full Exhaust. I have dynoed my car stock so I will be able to tell you what I have gained and then maybe you could shut the hell up and go back to your big ___ toaster forum. When you go out and buy a TC you will be welcome to speak but until then shut your cock holster!

Man, you must have really meant that ____ to post it 4 times!  As for mods, I have plenty but I am realistic enough to know that in reality they don't really add up to any significant HP gains. As you know' I have a "slow ___ toaster" so speed isn't an issue. I have a bike for the speed fix. I know probably as much if not more about my car then you I have owned toyotas and swapped motors on toyotas and I am damn sure I know just as much as you mister know it all.
I find this unlikely.  I am a Master Diagnostic Technician who happens to work for Toyota and you are the guy that spent $180 on spark plug wires that had these amazing results:[/quote]SupaWhiteTc Posted: Tue Mar 15, 2005 8:44 pm Post subject:
