Default Roof rack with 5 snowboards? Roof rack = damage?

Hey Guys. I am looking to get a roof rack for my 08 TC. My requirements however are that it won't cause any damage to my paint (I am **** about that!) and that I can fit at least 5 boards on it. Everywhere I look seems to say up to 6 skis or 4 snowboards. But looking at this pic (below), it looks like if I get 3 of these attachments, I should be good to fit 5 if not 6 boards on their sides. Am I wrong? I mean I can easily fit 4 boards and 4 people (including me - the driver) INSIDE the car with one seat down (and just stack the boards - i love how much space the TC has). But the only reason I'd get a rack is to be able to fit one more person.

Also, I don't know much about how roof racks are mounted and such but I hope manufacturers take paint sensitivity into account. Anyone know the answer to either of these questions?

Yeah I'm a bit tempted to. Haha "see what happens". Any recommendations on base rails or whatever they are called that look nice/won't scratch the paint above my windows? Mam this is gonna run me like 4-600 bucks. Ouch

Just about any. I usually do the same. Right now I'm just hitting up wachusett til the snow starts. I can't believe we haven't had snow yet! Can't wait to hit up Sunday river, killington, etc. Debating making the trip up to sugarloaf this year. And can't wait for midnight madness (9pm-3am during weekends) at crotched mountain starting Jan. Haha what about you? You go much?

Oh last post in a row I swear. Why do you have the Toyota/Scion in Wellesley in your signature. You work there? I live real close and got my car serviced there once. And my doc office is right next door haha. Small world

Watch the total weight on the rack. I've had my Yakima rack since late 2006 and I've never had so much as a scratch on the car. Last September I had three bikes (one aluminum fully outfitted touring bike, one steel and one aluminum/carbon road bike) and three front wheels on my roof. I hit a nasty dip in the hwy at about 70mph and the rack ended up shifting and denting the car pretty badly at the rear feet on both sides.
