Want a more responsive shift?
Get yourself a set of NST (NonStop Tuning) stainless steel shifter cable bushings:

Here's how to install them.
TOOLS NEEDED:
metric socket set
standard (flat blade) screwdriver
large needle nose pliers
snap ring pliers
rubber gloves * or your hands are gonna get really dirty*
silicone spray *not needed but it helps for easy installation*
PRE INSTALL TIPS:
SET PARKING BRAKE!!! (This is a MUST for safety)
Shift the car into Reverse. Doing so will move the counter weight out of the way.
STEP 1: Remove the air filter housing.
Chances are if you are doing this mod you already have an aftermarket intake. I have the Weapon R short ram intake already installed so these instructions are for said intake. the removal of the STOCK intake and air box is NOT included in this DIY. sorry.

STEP 2: Locate the shifter cables (see picture)
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8376-1.jpg
STEP 3:Remove the retainer clip
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8377.jpg
Using the needle nose pliers slightly twist to the side then pull the clip out. *this might take a few tries. the clip has a bend in it to keep it from vibrating off. *see picture above*
STEP 4: Remove rubber bushing from the cable.
Pull the cable off of the shifter post.
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8378.jpg
Using the post as a "tool", set the bushing on the post just off center and push down. This will push the bushing out of the cable.

STEP 5: Install new bushing.
Place the bushing onto the post
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8387.jpg
Spray the new bushing with silicone spray * this will help ease the cable onto the bushing.
Slide the cable onto the bushing, making sure that it is all the way on.
http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8392-1.jpg
Using the snap ring pliers install the snap ring into the groove on the installed bushing.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss157/Meatcutter525/mods/NTS%20bushings/100_8396-1-1.jpg
STEP 6: REPEAT STEPS 3-5 FOR THE OTHER CABLE.

AFTER INSTALL:

STEP 7: CHECK SHIFTING.
Run through a few gear changes while parked before reinstalling the intake and filter.
STEP 8: Reinstall intake and filter.
STEP 9: Test drive.
*tech note: This install took me just over 30 minutes, minus taking all the pictures. I rate the difficulty of this install a 3 on a scale of 1-10,1 being turn the key to "ON", and 10 being professional.
I hope this DIY helps you with your project.
