so i just finished putting my new tsudo n1 catback exhaust in and strup headers in and i realized the check engine light it on. the headers i bought came with the o2 sesor mod on it so the check engine light wouldnt come on but its still on. im curious to know if the lights on cause the exhaust or the headers(maybe not modded correctly)the exhaust is a catback which i thought meant everything in front of the cat but i guess the tsudo n1 catback doesnt have a cat. would that be why the light is on? any help wud b nice. btw is LOUDDDD

it's definitely not because of the exhaust.

the primary cat is on the stock header, which is what you removed.

so if the o2 sensor mod on the header is done right it shouldnt show up as check engine?

normally you would have to reset the ECU,after you put on the header if you got the CEL,so this way you can give the 02 mod trick a chance to work, cause if you just put on the header and the 02 extender, chances are the cel will still come on,as its not use to the extra flow, reset the ecu for like 10-15 mins, then let the car idle for another 10 mins and take it for a ride,

dont know where you have the 02 extender on at but it doesnt belong on the header it belongs on the second 02 sensor
i can guarantee you if its on the header you will have a check engine light on

unplug the battery for like 10-15 mins then hook it all back up and start the car and just let it idle for 10 mins then take it for a spin at lower RPM's for a couple mins before you get on it

you are correct and the 2nd o2 sensor is on the s-pipe, you do not have to reset the ecu because the light will just come back on...

so if i just hookup the o2 sensor on the headers normally without no mod adapter and reset the ecu all shud b good?

Yes, you SHOULD be good, but you never know if that anti fouler works or not. And the mod adapter should be on your s pipe not your headers.

I'll never put a header on my car. It's just way too loud and the OEM header/cat is probably the nicest I've seen on a car in a long time (07+ anyways). I just went back to N/A last week :( and I definitely miss the power but my car is so much louder now even with the OEM header. I've just got a Magnaflow cat-back and an aftermarket intake. So noisy!

just to clearify

you must hook up the 02 adapter to the second 02 sensor located under the car on the s-pipe which is where your header meets your exhaust pipe
just past that is the second 02 sensor put your first sensor direct into the header you can reset the code but i think once you have this set up correctly it will reset itself after you drive 20 to 50 miles

you can reset it yourself either by unplugging the battery for 5-15 mins or by removing the ecu fuse in the fuse box for the same amount of time
but as for me i can get it reset at advance or autozone for free here with there code reader its a free service performed at most part stores but not at pep**$ they charge for this as they are a parts and auto repair facility
