View Full Version : NEW Product - DDE (Angel Eye) Headlight Modification
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 01:15 PM At this time I am proud to announce that CreativeCompacts.Com is working hand in hand with Scion to get a new product developed. Since our tC delivery date isn't till April 1st, we needed a pair of headlights to make this new product. Scion Corp came thru for us and the entire Scion community and is shipping us out a pair of lights so the modification can be made...
The mod? Well in BMW's they are called Angel Eyes... Since this item was released to our cougar market, we have labeled it has Demon Eyes... why? Because You will see low quality angel eye kits out there for Hondas, Mitsus, Acuras and the brightness is so weak, those LED windshield wiper squirters are brighter. With using the DDE Technology, the Demon Eyes are very close to being brighter than your Low Beam bulbs! PLUS, Its the same brightness ALL the way around the circle, not just at the top or bottom like those cheaper kits.
Scion is expected to be shipping our lights out around the end of the week which means this kit could be ready as early as April 1st. This product will NOT replace your existing headlights, but will be installed inside them. Complete instructions will be provided for the install from start to finish.
Price? Estimated to be around $199-$229, however will have to determine based on the size of DDE Ring that has to be used for the 4 Halos.
Want to see an image of the Demon Eyes on another car? see below
Thanks
James

trialsindude 03-09-2005, 01:27 PM i'll be interested......say rice all you want but its cool! lololol
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 01:30 PM Rice is no where close yet....
trialsindude 03-09-2005, 01:35 PM lol
its all good though i'm still interested if the price is set right and the install will look clean.
Swanny 03-09-2005, 01:39 PM Cool idea. Hopefully the kit isn't to much of a PITA to install and the price is right. Keep up the good work with new products!
qbnlykwhoa 03-09-2005, 01:53 PM when are the darn projector's comin out? :tap:
RedheadedStepChild 03-09-2005, 02:04 PM Those are pretty hot, but im am also curious when a set of projectors are going to be released. Are you guys in development on a projector kit?
BlkSandPrlTurbotC 03-09-2005, 02:47 PM Those are not rice at all.
Those are badass.
Now the tC will look more like a BMW at nite time
scrap 03-09-2005, 03:32 PM I 'll take a pair james
motozen 03-09-2005, 03:46 PM  with projectors and HIDs I am there.
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 03:48 PM Sorry no plans to do projectors at this time...
xnevergiveinx 03-09-2005, 04:09 PM i'll wait for projectors with clear turn signals...then i'll add hid. then i'll sit back and drool
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 04:21 PM FYI: We are not replacing headlights... We are making an Addon to your stock lights... When companies produce Projectors, we can make a kit for their headlights as well.
Streeter 03-09-2005, 04:23 PM
B-E-A-UTIFUL!! I am SO in. Please PM me with info!!
aarontrini85 03-09-2005, 04:35 PM im in pm me or im me
qbnlykwhoa 03-09-2005, 06:12 PM The halo's are cool and everything but wouldn't you have to take the headlight apart?
And if you did take it apart, half of the people out there 1. won't even attempt it , and 2. would do halfa$$ jobs putting them back together.
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 06:20 PM That is correct... however with the detailed instructions, install should be very easy to do by yourself..
joescionwv 03-09-2005, 06:37 PM very very cool please keep me informend I have a wad of cash burning in my scion fund and those would look OUT STANDING ON my ride please pm with where to send the funds when they are completed
wOoOzZy 03-09-2005, 06:57 PM I nominate this for best aesthetic mod for the tC to date.
retrodrive 03-09-2005, 07:05 PM Ricey but cool. Angel eyes should stay on BMW and Alteza lights should have been kept on IS300...but noooo.
So what do you have to do to install them?? Open up your headlights?? or is there another way to install them. :ponder:
Fixtion 03-09-2005, 09:27 PM My vote is to wait for projectors with a blue hue in the lens to give it that BMW look.
Streeter 03-09-2005, 09:38 PM Sure beats the $1300 kit that someone else was offering.
tanlogic 03-09-2005, 10:17 PM 200 for all 4?
CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 10:18 PM yes
psyontific 03-09-2005, 10:23 PM r these actually for the Tc?

CreativeCompacts 03-09-2005, 11:11 PM These, if able to be produced, will be scion tc specific....
They will not be sold at the dealership, only creativecompacts.com
Gmoney 03-09-2005, 11:42 PM Nice!!!!cant wait!
Mista3 03-09-2005, 11:55 PM So will these demon eyes replace my low beams? If they do, will I still have the ability to use my high beams? Honestly I'm more interested in a true HID kit for the Tc. That means no crappy kit I'm talking about the real thing. Please o please o please produce these.
CreativeCompacts 03-10-2005, 12:01 AM Guys.. have you all ever seen a BMW? This will not replace the headlights at all... It is simply a cosmetic modification that goes in your stock headlights!!
UCSDPinoy 03-10-2005, 12:32 AM These, if able to be produced
Uh Oh, so they are not sure if they can even been made? or did i just read that wrong? :tap:
Anyways, i think its cool! Is DDE lighting like Cold Cathode?
On a side note, are you going to be producing different colors? (Blue, Red, White, etc.) or different design. I think i saw somewhere where these have like little grooves or something?
Either way, I can't wait to see the finished product and Please make it Good James!!!
rsx_freak79 03-10-2005, 01:04 AM Ricey but cool. Angel eyes should stay on BMW and Alteza lights should have been kept on IS300...but noooo.
http://img229.exs.cx/img229/5301/werd8ec.gif those are no different from civic angel eyes. you can make those yourself all you just have to buy are the rings and the led's and you will save yourself a ____ load of money. i see them on ebay all the time.

my mistake. didn't mean to say and LED's. but all you need is the halo rings. halo rings come w/ the wiring already so all you have to do is wire them up.
CreativeCompacts 03-10-2005, 01:45 AM Where will you get the ballast to power em?
rsx_freak79 03-10-2005, 01:54 AM these look about the same.

i dont think they will be
haha...i agree. i doubt any dealership will install aftermarket parts to their cars if you didn't buy them from there. especially if they aren't from trd or toyota or something. :P
verditsgerman 03-10-2005, 02:21 AM now if you could make the headlights actually have a red glow like it looks like they do in the picture, witht he white halo around it... that would be sweet stuff.
Gambit7 03-10-2005, 02:48 AM James, thanks for trying to make or cars look cooler! Let me know when they are done
UCSDPinoy 03-10-2005, 03:26 AM oh and another suggestion :P Maybe look into turning our "EyeLids" into Signal Blinkers. Like this
http://www.jotechracing.com/images/tc51.jpg
or at least similar to that concept.
I believe they have this on the Jotech car or something, and they are charging like $1300 for the whole housing, that's Nuts
So yah, how about that :P
Another thing...if i'm going to be opening my headlights to put these Demon Lights on, i might as well do whatever else i can to them... Clear out side marker and eyelid, paint housing or whatever. Hopefully some stuff like that comes out.
the_butcher 03-10-2005, 03:43 AM dude im so in
as long as its under 350 dollars!!!
DouBLeJ16 03-10-2005, 05:34 AM very nice looking.
UCSDPinoy 03-10-2005, 06:00 AM dude im so in
as long as its under 350 dollars!!!
HEY DON'T ENCOURAGE THE PRICE TO GO UP!!!
Keep the price reasonable, and lots of tC owners will buy
ThunderGod 03-10-2005, 06:37 AM o.k. i'm here, Sponsor me

IceCold 03-10-2005, 07:14 AM Defiantly. Especially if you keep them around $200-300.
cinccycat 03-10-2005, 12:40 PM looks nice, may consider
smash 03-10-2005, 02:04 PM would like to see some pics of them installed on the car.. and a daylight pic would be preferable as well. very nice, and an affordable solution to full on angel eye headlights or projectors (for the SL'er on a budget!) if i do say so.
CreativeCompacts 03-10-2005, 08:46 PM Will do... headlights shipped from Scion today
smash 03-12-2005, 07:50 PM cool! can't wait to see 'em. thanks!
MrJohnson 03-12-2005, 08:36 PM Do you have a pic of them equiped on the tC?
enieft 03-13-2005, 12:22 AM Do you make this with a acrylic rod? If so I did this for about $20 bucks... all you do is take a acrylic rod (window curton thing) put it in the oven, rap it around a jar, cut it, dremel the lines around it, put 2 led's 1 on each side, toss some resistors on and voila!!
did it about 4 times so far, I have them on a venge. sorry if I just gave away how you are doing it... but if you are doing it a diffrent way more power to ya.... I just figured I would shine some light on this.
Eric
maximus96 03-13-2005, 12:30 AM they're not LEDs in acrylic rods, but CCFL instead, like these fans thats has round CCFLs here, http://www.svc.com/80ccfanco.html
sonic_va 03-13-2005, 04:08 AM Hmmm...I may be interested...especially for a sub-200 price. :D
NARCOSOMNI 03-14-2005, 05:34 AM count me in.
L337Biker 03-14-2005, 05:45 AM  with projectors and HIDs I am there.
YES
Shadow_tC 03-14-2005, 07:51 AM I nominate this for best aesthetic mod for the tC to date.
I agree. On the very first day I ever saw my first tC, one of the first things out of my mouth was, "That car would look awesome with some angel eyes." I mean, just look at the design of the headlights. It's screaming for them!!! Count me in!
- Desi
the_butcher 03-14-2005, 08:26 AM SOMEONE SPONSOR ME
smash 03-14-2005, 01:17 PM we need more pics!! please? :nails:
soldiercontreras 03-14-2005, 02:10 PM I am definitely down to get these as soon as they come out.
CreativeCompacts 03-14-2005, 09:34 PM They are not made yet, we are still working on the project..
yellot00tr 03-14-2005, 10:25 PM what's the estimated time before they're available?
CreativeCompacts 03-16-2005, 07:23 PM At this time, we are being held up by Scion Corp. Scion doesn't have an extra set of headlights instock at this time.... Until we get the lights, nothing can be even looked at.
Revilo 03-16-2005, 07:32 PM James...
How much time you need to make the conversion?
Revilo 03-16-2005, 07:33 PM Are this headlights legal?
CreativeCompacts 03-16-2005, 07:46 PM We need the headlights for about 5 business days....
They are legal
maximus96 03-16-2005, 07:47 PM only illegal if its not white or yellow.
Revilo 03-16-2005, 07:51 PM but it that color is red... i have understood that only emergency vehicles can have red in the front part...
jocdoc 03-16-2005, 07:55 PM by the way, i ____ uncle bens.
CreativeCompacts 03-16-2005, 07:59 PM Our Angel Eyes are not red nor have been posted as red...
Revilo 03-16-2005, 08:02 PM ok ok ok... they are angel eyes or demon eyes?
maximus96 03-16-2005, 08:08 PM DDE stands for daylight demon eyes or something. its brighter than the BMW angel eyes since its CCFL tubes.
Revilo 03-16-2005, 08:14 PM wow!!! better and cheaper... that's a good deal... but the only obstacle is the time that creative compacts need to do the conversion... 5 business days is a lot... almost a week... and the tC would be stop for that time... because it does not have headlights... right?
maximus96 03-16-2005, 08:17 PM cheaper? than what?
Revilo 03-16-2005, 08:21 PM the ones that clear corners sell
Revilo 03-16-2005, 08:23 PM they are at $1360 pair... wow!!!
but in my personal opinion, these "demon eyes" look better and are cheaper than the clearcorners ones... :)
maximus96 03-16-2005, 08:31 PM the clearcorner ones are overpriced. but CCFL rings can be had for less than $20 as they are commonly used by computer nerds that mod their cases.
smash 03-17-2005, 02:53 PM At this time, we are being held up by Scion Corp. Scion doesn't have an extra set of headlights instock at this time.... Until we get the lights, nothing can be even looked at.
Huh? Scion has no extra sets of headlights. So you're telling me if I busted/smashed a headlight I'd be SOL for the time being? That's hard to believe.. either that or someone really needs to work on their inventory prep at Toyota.
CreativeCompacts 03-17-2005, 04:32 PM Our lights are coming directly from Scion... They mentioned at this time they still do not have them available, I am not dealing with a dealership, but Scion directly.
the_butcher 03-18-2005, 03:44 AM so when can i buy my halo lights... i sen some girl in fullerton cali w/some ... now im wainting.... you can use my lights.....
CreativeCompacts 03-25-2005, 12:16 AM At this time our headlights arrived yesterday from Scion and we were able to look at them today. We may have pics of the Demon Eyes installed as soon as Monday... :) STAY TUNED!!!
integsrtite 03-30-2005, 06:46 PM staying tuned.... any updates? its wed!!! =D
maximus96 03-30-2005, 07:17 PM hey CreativeCompact, since you will be taking apart the headlights, can you tell me what the diameter of the hi-beam and low-beam housing are? thanks much
ALTERNATE_IMEGE 03-30-2005, 07:35 PM when? :P
Streeter 04-01-2005, 09:48 PM Oooh tuned in at the right time! 8) can't wait to see.
maximus96 04-01-2005, 10:25 PM CCFL tubes are bright! i got these for $50 shipped from somebody that previously used it in his E46 bmw. compare it to the LED halo i made from a curtain rod and two 10,000 mcd LEDs.

integsrtite 04-11-2005, 07:41 AM you know it builds bad reputation to give customers an ETA and not be able to meet it... by weeks  tsk tsk tsk.
its always better to overshoot the date and deliver early.
NARCOSOMNI 04-11-2005, 08:14 AM ahh!
firesquare 04-11-2005, 08:23 AM they look awesome but they would look even better on a tC
iowagary 04-11-2005, 03:40 PM Heh... giving people an Environmental Protection Agency doesn't do anyone much good. An ETA that you could meet would be nice though.

CreativeCompacts 04-14-2005, 09:28 PM Several of the test rings we were going to use arrived to use damaged so we were unable to get a mock up made till sometime next week... smash 04-15-2005, 05:20 AM haha that was kinda random.. wtf does that have to do with angeleyes..
Mista3 04-16-2005, 12:56 AM CreativeCompacts, if you or your company ever create or design a product ever again please instead of 1 large order split your order into 2 smaller orders. Have 1 shipped sooner and the second shipped slower, for example 1 shipped overnight and the other shipped 2nd or 3rd day. This will help decrease the chances of recieving damaged products or at least cut the turnaround time down. I like others am very interested to see this product when it is completed.

I'd like my angel eyes seperate - like 1 in each package sent at different times. That way when they come in one at a time over 2 months I can really truely appreciate them and how awesome they are. :eyebrow:
j/k - i'm a jerk :silly:
Stu_Gotti 05-03-2005, 06:11 PM Bump!

yellot00tr 05-11-2005, 03:46 AM i heard that the CC demon eyes would be around in like 30 days.
Stu_Gotti 05-11-2005, 01:29 PM Hopefully soon.. I cant wait.. its going to look sick on my BSP.. I can see it now! :)

this is a link to a tC member that retrofitted projectors . Personally if there was a kit made like these I would be the first in line to get me a set . Makes the car really stand out in my opinion if someone calls it rice or not . I would buy them . But he did a custom install , even though he did a good job on them and all . i am concerned about issues like aiming them . or what happens in teh event you have to aim them etc etc stuff like that . Plus I aint one to be busting into my factory units and busting things up . I have a bad enough habit of breaking things like a bull in a glass store LOL CRASH OPPS CRASH CRASH DAMN IT , CRASH Oh man that was expensive wasnt it

BMW was the first car to use them. which is why they look hot.
have you seen the 06 bimmers...they've got floating angel eyes--they're not attached to anything...they're just there....

Stu_Gotti 05-20-2005, 03:25 PM James.. whats up man??? You've got a feeding frenzy on your hands here! Update us all!
toastbox 05-20-2005, 03:48 PM I *think* James is at SEMA.....wouldn't expect a reply on this anytime this week. :)
sciontc2005 05-20-2005, 04:04 PM dudes knock it off with the RICEY sayings, by far not ricey at all
Stu_Gotti 05-20-2005, 05:33 PM Oh.. I agree.. Angel Eyes is naturally associated with BMW's.. now your right.. how is a European Car "ricey?" I think with the right stuff on your tC.. these are going to make it look like a new BMW.. something different.. I've already had people wonder who makes Scion.. one of the things said.. was "is that a new BMW?"
mksm2000 06-01-2005, 04:10 AM updates?
CreativeCompacts 06-01-2005, 10:43 PM like Chris Kross said.. wigggity wiggity WAK !!!!!!!!
FYI: It is spelt Kris Kross :) Nice spelling
CreativeCompacts 06-01-2005, 10:45 PM Guys I have been pounding my manufacturer for the past 3 weeks on updates... Scion sent us the lights over a month or so ago and the manufacturer has clearly dropped the ball in all aspects. No excuses on this except they were waiting for a new ring to be produced to fit the car.... Newest update FROM THEM, not me, is that I should have pics by Wednesday or so of next week... We will see. The new rings arrived today.
KINGxOFxSKA 06-01-2005, 10:49 PM hmm ... hopefully
DTRUONG_112 06-02-2005, 02:05 PM yeah. Hopefully.
yellot00tr 06-02-2005, 06:39 PM umnitza has some dde's coming out for the tc in a week or two as well.
CreativeCompacts 06-02-2005, 06:53 PM umnitza has some dde's coming out for the tc in a week or two as well.
DUH! We are the exclusive distributor of them... We shipped Umnitza the lights to make them for us.... They will be available only from CreativeCompacts.Com
Should have images in 48 hours he states.
steve_r 06-02-2005, 07:32 PM im a little disappointed that the light doesnt go all the way around the circle, but i guess no one has developed that in perfect order, until then, no demon/angel eyes for me :)

tckurt 06-04-2005, 04:37 AM Looks like you gotta take off the whole headlight assembly and probably glue the rings down...
Gambit7 06-04-2005, 10:59 AM looking good guys, thanx!!!!
surfcity40 06-04-2005, 11:02 PM Does anyone know when Chrome door handles will be available for the TC? :tap:
ha! i read these posts all day and i burst out laughing at that one. thanks bro. awesome.
also, with regard to these rings....jerry meet rigged, rigged meets jerry. i am mad at myself for waiting this thread out. i should know better. if i want angel eyes (and projectors), i'm gonna have to spring for the real deal and retrofit some 5 series beemer heads. christ, i can break open a concert tube if i want this. i mean no disrespect, but clearly we get what we pay for.
there are links to real angel eye mods that are awesome and look like scion would have done it. just me but i'm kinda disappointed, i followed this for some time.
CreativeCompacts 06-05-2005, 03:52 AM How can you be disappointed when a final image hasn't even been posted... the rings completely go around the light to a perfect fit... Please explain what you were "hoping" for.
the_butcher 06-05-2005, 04:29 AM grrrrr... more waiting ... i better be the first to have these when they come out!... you hear me creative compacts!!!!!!!!
boostedscion 06-05-2005, 07:42 AM awesome job... keep it up!!
CreativeCompacts 06-06-2005, 06:28 AM As soon as I have word they are done, its on like donkey kong... We will have the items available right away. Right now the Manufacturer is doing some minor tweaks to our lights for our company car then we will have images. They are also working on a how-to for both the do-it yourselfer or those who want to take this mod to a shop.
Thanks
James
maximus96 06-06-2005, 09:19 PM since you have the headlights opened up, do you mind telling me what the dimension of the two openings are? its difficult to measure from the outside with the front lens on.
KINGxOFxSKA 06-06-2005, 09:43 PM is the headlamp assembly going to have the amber reflector? is it possible to have it cleared or blacked out?
CreativeCompacts 06-06-2005, 10:56 PM is the headlamp assembly going to have the amber reflector? is it possible to have it cleared or blacked out?
What are you talking bout, this is not new headlight replacements... these are addons to your stock headlights.
mr_lore 06-07-2005, 07:09 AM is the headlamp assembly going to have the amber reflector? is it possible to have it cleared or blacked out?
What are you talking bout, this is not new headlight replacements... these are addons to your stock headlights.
You guys should offer a clear reflector to replace the stock amber one in the headlight housing, atleast I think thats what he is refering too.
Bump for a great guy and a great company making things happen for our cars!
SupaWhite 06-07-2005, 07:21 AM Yea, I was wondering the same thing about the reflector. Not sure how it would look with the amber lighting. But damn... my bro had angel eyes on his 328CI and those demon eyes look MUCH more promising!
TurboMe 06-07-2005, 07:26 AM if u guys could make the eyebrow light up that would be awesome!

boostedscion 06-12-2005, 07:51 AM patience is a virtue.. I can't wait myself
smash 06-14-2005, 01:54 PM This is BS.
iowagary 06-14-2005, 03:35 PM Everyone listen to smash... as much as people want James and CC to succeed, they need to get their communication down and their products shipped.
CreativeCompacts 06-14-2005, 03:44 PM BS?? Fine so be it... However my main focus is more towards taking care of the customers who call, 300 + e-mails over the weekend and getting customers ordered shipped out... I know you all probably haven't looked outside of this thread, but we are dealing with a lot of new products right now that we HAD to get shipped out versus simply posting images of a product you cannot buy yet... This product will not be for sale until I can test fit the items on our company car which will not occur till next week. Also as mentioned... I am working to add OPTIONS to this kit for the public.
So instead of listening to smash and jumpin on a bandwagon... Lets see something called patience.. Parts are NOT made over night for this car incase you all just got the car... new products are taking a while to get developed... I for one do not rush products to the market like every other company and have fitment issues, quality issues or a half done product.
Thanks
James
UPLOADING PICS NOW
the_butcher 06-14-2005, 03:52 PM UPLOADING ???????? im waiting .. ahah jk take your time i dont want to have to return my headlights cause you guys overseen a problem just to rush the product to the general public....
CreativeCompacts 06-14-2005, 04:16 PM First of all... THese pics are REALLY hard to tell how they were modified versus what is for sale... So READ This instead of sending 50 million questions down the pipe line...
These are factory headlights. The DDE Demon Eyes have been added to both half circles located inside the headlights. This is the bright light that produces the angel eye-like effect.
However, the lights in the image are for our company car. The lights are using the DDE Demon Eyes which you can see if you look very closely. The inners of the headlights have also been painted SuperWhite to match the exterior of the car. The amber reflector has been tinted smoke black to appear blacked out. NONE of these options will be available for sale, however you can have a local body shop do these. Because we did the white inners, it is really hard to see how bright the demon eyes are during the day, however we will get night pics when the lights are back in our car.
Thanks
James

iowagary 06-14-2005, 04:35 PM James - I appreciate the fact that when you deliver products, your customers seem to be happy and the products seem to gbe good. You just have a track record around here of delaying when those things actually ship (whether or not it's your fault directly) and being slow to communicate. If you get so much mail, maybe it's because you have a really popular product, but if that's the case, maybe you should say "We're swamped and won't be answering emails and PMs in a timely manner". Or maybe you should hire some more help. Either way, not doing things half assed and not ____ing people off don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Stu_Gotti 06-14-2005, 04:35 PM Damn... looking hot James.. Nice! Just keep us informed.. I'm def getting this mod.
z-lite 06-14-2005, 04:38 PM How about showing pics of the actual product that we can order so you guys can rack up the pre-orders.
CreativeCompacts 06-14-2005, 04:39 PM Manufacturers control when an item is available... Right now as the #1 supplier of Scion parts, we do have alot of items on a backorder status... but we also stock more than any other retailer on these boards for the Scion tC.
As far as slow to communicate... I don't work weekends. I am usually in travel with a race team and cannot work on the weekend. Many if not all companies that visit these boards are also off on the weekends.
If you need quicker answers, be more than happy to take your call... I am in the office all day and NO CALL comes before a message board....
iowagary 06-14-2005, 04:40 PM He isn't ready to do that yet. And he doesn't have time to keep up with an 8 page thread. It's just a shame - tons ofp eople want to buy his stuff. As far as tC accessories go, James and CC seem to have some of the best stuff around. I hope me makes enough off of the short shifters that he should be shipping already to hire some email-answering help.
CreativeCompacts 06-14-2005, 04:47 PM Dude... what is your beef? We have SHIPPED and informed all of our customers of the manufacturer delays on the shifters... by Friday, I am pretty sure ALL shifters will be shipped out.. Don't try to make accusations on stuff that isn't there.... Communication IS there and will continue to be there... However you as well as all customers have to be reasonable... DONT order an item on Sunday night, e-mail 2 hours later asking for tracking, IM me first thing on Monday before the shop opens then be the first call in on Monday going, where is my stuff.... We get this over and over... This is what is preventing us from being able to communicate with the scion life community. As well as people not reading the threads themselves... Our company thrives on providing the desired product to our customer in a timely manner. The only holdups we ever have on the shipment of items is ALWAYS Manufacturer which all distributors deal with on a daily basis.
So in conclusion, if you have a problem, feel free to contact me. If not, please refrain from posting further accusations or suggestions on how to run a company in our thread. IF You all would have read the post versus just looking at the pic, you will see that it was STATED the DDE Demon Eyes are installed in the photo...So I AM READY to post images of what you are getting.... cause its in the IMAGE that was posted.

z-lite 06-14-2005, 05:02 PM Just need a pic of the product in use (installed on car) and I'll be saving up for it :)
smash 06-14-2005, 06:40 PM No. A track record of stringing people along telling them a certain product or photo will be released on a certain date, then pushing it back to the point where no one even cares anymore. I understand you have a business to run and it's good you want to take care of your customers, but you need to think a little bit before you make a big stink over a new/upcoming product and then let everyone down again and again when the release date/photos get set back. All you're doing is ____ing off your fan base.
CreativeCompacts 06-14-2005, 07:48 PM Setbacks are from the manufacturers and we have definitely chewed them out as much as possible to try to get quicker results.... Doesn't work
Streeter 06-14-2005, 08:13 PM Man I'd hate to be a manufacturer/seller on this board. Do you people realize that if often takes years for a product to get from conception to shelves? Ease up a bit! It's still a new car model and you should still expect the aftermarket to be playing catchup. You don't want a $200+ piece of CRAP do you?!
P.S. This is not, in any way shape or form, an attempt at kissing up to Creative Compacts to get them to let me demo one of these products. EVEN THOUGH my tC does get a lot of exposure and people asking where to buy it and aftermarket parts for it, at regional automotive gatherings and otherwise. EVEN THOUGH I'm running out of money to spend on the car (after $6000+car itself) and it is pretty much all go and not a lot of show and it'd be mutually beneficial for manufacturers to look over this way and throw me a bone. That's most certainly not what this is all about. 8)
retrodrive 06-14-2005, 08:58 PM All the companies in car industry mess up with dealines all the time. At least these guys are not that bad about it. Have a little temperance and be happy that we have innovative companies in our scion community. :eyebrow:
lvnurs9 06-14-2005, 11:06 PM Ya know he could just not tell you anything and have you wait until he has them sitting at his warehouse ready to deliver....but it seems as though MOST people appreciate the progress reports. This is just ONE forum and just ONE means of communication. He TRIES his best to get the information out, but if hes swamped at the office on Friday and doesnt get the images until late, maybe its not the biggest priority to post them. Its not like they are for sale yet. All I have to say is some of you need to chill out. I have never seen so much _____ing about products before. He may not stick to his posts 100% but who can and who does...he's getting the products produced for YOU. You should appreciate it.
On a better note :P I'm painting my headlights black cherry lol

You're absolutely right; I'm a marketing major and obviously understand that setbacks happen when dealing with supply chain issues; so that was my bad. Will you accept my apology? So, please do excuse me and the others who've been rude to you about release dates and such. yellot00tr 06-17-2005, 12:48 AM i need these things. i was gonna send in my lights to hidretro.com and have them add demon eyes to em, but they need my lights for a week and a half. i can't have no lights for like 10 days. on another note, CC is doing great work on scions. can't wait for these to be ready. i just ordered the CC catback the other day and james was pretty helpful with everything. my order got all f-ed up, not by them, but by me and james was able to take care of it for me pretty easily.

LiNxStEr 06-17-2005, 04:50 AM Yeah i know what u mean smash but the truth is that they started this topic way back then in March. Its been like 3 months since they annouced the Demon Eyes and he said a sets a day for them to be shown and we get a no show. He can atleast log on and post info on the day he set. I know he has more going on with other projects. Most of us dont have the $$$ to spend on the hid retro BMW lights. So they just keep getting our hopes up and then dissapoint us when we dont get a product update kinda sucks. Atleast i know there still working on the DDE hope they come out soon.

At this time the manufacturer and I are working on a plan with production to reduce initial costs so we can sell the kits at an affordable price. Do not e-mail the manufacturer... I received notice that some people are constantly e-mailing them. At this time the item is going to only be available thru CREATIVECOMPACTS.COM.
Thanks

z-lite 06-18-2005, 02:25 PM Can you post pics of the demon eyes of both sides from a distance (10 ft, 20 ft) so we can have a better idea how they look from far away.
CreativeCompacts 06-18-2005, 05:04 PM First of all the demon eyes are just the rings... The painting of the inner housing is something you will have to have a local body shop do.

Pricing would be important tho.
yellot00tr 06-19-2005, 07:45 AM the entire housing looks awesome. i love it painted white and the UGLY UGLY UGLY amber turn signal thing gone? or overlayed?. i might have to do the exact same thing to my super white. so there's not really an idea on the price yet, right? is it gonna be priced somewhere near the initial estimate $199-$229, or are those numbers no longer even close? wish there was a way to get the lights from CC like that. would it be possible to do something like zpi is doing with the head packages-charge people for the demon eyes and for the housing-then when they send u back their housing to refund the housing charge? i realize u guys might not do the shipping back and forth thing at first, but is that possible in the future? just wondering-i'd prefer not to bake the thing myself if i don't have to. i'm a disaster in the kitchen with just food. i don't wanna mangle my housing or blow something up and have glass flying thru the oven at me.

mikochu 06-20-2005, 02:16 AM 200 bucks for 10 dollars worth of cold cathode lighting...What's that? 190 bucks for heating up the tube and bending it into the shape of a circle? Plus, it's a Do-It-Yourself install? Dang! What does the wiring look like?
CreativeCompacts 06-20-2005, 02:26 AM umm I think you are misunderstanding... the product is not your simple led lights and your plastic mini blind wand... these are glass tubes that are a constant light all the way around the circle.
The kit includes
4 Halos
2 Demon Eye Ballasts
1 full wiring harness
1 year warranty
Online Instructions
All Hardware and Installation Included
Please be advised, the kit uses a BALLAST... This is not a cheap 12v LED kit...this is the brightest on the market, period.
Jdawg82 06-20-2005, 02:52 AM What color are the actual rings themselves when unlighted? Will they match the factory plastic of the headlights? In the pics they appear to be painted white to match the headlight housing that is also painted.

I'm not talking about "LED kits." I'm talking about cold cathode tubes. If your kits are being made by um nitza (http://www.umnitza.com/index.php?cPath=114), I'm pretty sure your kits includes 4 cold cathode tubes in the shape of rings and the "Demon Eye Ballasts" are nothing more than power inverters that power the 4 cold cathodes (two CCLs to a power inverter). I'm hoping your wire harness (wires and t-taps?) include a relay. I think you need to show potential customers pictures of the kit (uninstalled) as well as an install guide if you expect them to put down a non-refundable $200 to preorder your kit.
My friend used to sell DDE kits for BMWs and he said umnitza's kits are the same as his (Leistung.Motorwerkes (http://www.leistungmotorwerkes.com/)). He also sold his kits for 100-115 a set. Also, I hope your customer service is better than umnitza's. Apparently the owner, Matt, pretty much tells customers who are seeking technical support to feck off.
the_butcher 06-20-2005, 03:42 AM some pics from afar at mid day and night .. please !!!!!!!
CreativeCompacts 06-20-2005, 04:23 AM Per requests. we will get pics of the products uninstalled. Will take a few days. At this time we have our kit our of the car making some minor adjustments.

tCrew_R 06-20-2005, 04:33 AM typo...i meant JULY 2!!
CreativeCompacts 06-20-2005, 04:35 AM Alot of things can change between now and then, but I am sure we will have the tC there. I am expecting my RX8 to be ready to debut at that show so I will have to see if one of our co-workers/friends can drive the tC cause I know I will be driving the RX8... no comparision to boost :)
tCrew_R 06-20-2005, 04:40 AM cool, thanks for the quick reply
Bavtoys 06-20-2005, 04:51 AM umm I think you are misunderstanding... the product is not your simple led lights and your plastic mini blind wand... these are glass tubes that are a constant light all the way around the circle.
The kit includes
4 Halos
2 Demon Eye Ballasts
1 full wiring harness
1 year warranty
Online Instructions
All Hardware and Installation Included

Your "friend" is nothing more than an 18 year old college student working out of his dorm room. Your "friend" didn't engineer anything, he scooped up the product from some copy cat artists in Taiwan and decided that he knew better than the established companies what was good for the consumer. What his motives were, only he knows. Your "friend" is also a past customer with someone unreasonable expectations that we actually managed to fulfill.
Our customer service is second to none, we had some hiccups but your blatant attack on our credibility smacks of someone with a chip on their shoulder put there by people whom you think you trust.
It's great how little people on big forums are allowed to have BIG opinions and blatantly attempt to slander established companies with long established happy customer bases with nothing more than rumour and innuendo. My best friend's cat's second owner's cousin's girlfriend said crap isn't really useful - it's called hearsay.
We have never ever told any customer to be on their own. We give them full instructions.
Additionally, though you probably don't realize this, but these rings were never in existence. We had to custom design a completely new mold for this - @ 10K per mold (each ring had to be done in an individual design) and a minimum PROMISED volume, it wasn't cheap. This is a chance we're taking.
We think this market will be bigger than BMW products, we expect it to be so, so we're hoping that our engineering efforts in the BMW space can translate into some avenues.
Sure, the actual technology isn't that expenisve, but then, you probably didn't realize that your SCION costs about 1-2K to make overall - the actuall cost of the parts. But blood, sweat, tears, engineering, marketing, support, service, etc. costs money. If you fail to see that, you will probably also fail to see the vast highway of failed companies that FAILED to realize that their business was run on profits. You think it costs McDonalds $.50 to make a burger they sell you for $1? If the burger is more than .02 to make, I'd be impressed <-- that's including the wrapper and the pickles;)
-------------
Now, boy's and girls, this product will be done properly and finished properly. The final stages are almost finished and we anticipate that with CreativeCompacts wonderful assistance, we'll bring the product into the market properly.
We only want to be the back end MFG of this, we don't want to retail it unless we absolutely have to. And right now, we don't have to.
Thanks James for pointing us to this thread:)
NARCOSOMNI 06-20-2005, 05:24 AM greetings, pretty interested in the product just a few questions, the 200 bucks when is this charged?, now or just before the product ships? and how hard is the install and what tools are needed , and would it be best to take it to a custom shop and have them do it, about how much time should it take for install? thanks!
Bavtoys 06-20-2005, 05:31 AM $200? I don't set retail, you can talk to CreativeCompacts.
Install?
For the lights:
You need an oven.
You need a flat head screw driver
You need a philips head.
You need this great glue we use (you can buy it from us, or from Ace Hardware).
For removing the headlights from the car?
Probably requires bumper removal which is much easier than it sounds - probably just 8-10 bolts max.
NARCOSOMNI 06-20-2005, 08:39 AM thanks man, appreciate the reply
mikochu 06-20-2005, 12:14 PM umnitza,
Although I'm not interested in a kit, I believe the customers that are interested should see what they are getting before they shell out the money. It would be beneficial to see what the actual kit, molds, and even what the fabrication process looks like before they give Creative Compacts the non-refundable amount of $199, especially since Creative Compacts is probably the sole reseller of the umnitza DDEs...
And yes, what I mentioned about umnitza company's technical support may very well be gossip, but it's up to you and/or Creative Compacts to prove the hearsay wrong when the tC kits come out and customers need technical support.

Beneficial how? So you can go and copy them? Gimme a break. What business in their right mind would show you the inner workings of a product on a publicly viewed forum?
Wait, why don't I send you the exact measurements, drawings, pictures, and even give you the address and contact information of our factory reps? Wait, I have a better idea...let me just buy you a ticket, fund your research and development for you, and then you can just sell the product yourself.
I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.
We have nothing to prove that hasn't already been proven 1000 times over, we'll be happy to prove it to this community as well.

LOL $200 non refundable for a product you can't see uninstalled? Crazy :lalala:
Bavtoys 06-20-2005, 05:54 PM Excuse me, you can see it installed. You can't see it uninstalled.
It's installed and has more pictures coming tomorrow:)
He's asking for uninstalled pictures of the molds, process, etc.
Sorry, uh uh.
Streeter 06-20-2005, 06:14 PM I have an actual question for you...
When you install this does it turn on when you turn on the driving lights (whatever the middle position is before the headlights come on)? Because I feel that driving light is useless and its color messes up the colors of the Silverstar lights I have installed. If the fact that it's a ballast answers this question, please explain because I don't know what a ballast is. 8)
Thanks

It turns on using a wiring harness. This harness allows you to use any 12V positive lead as your wiring trigger.
The rings will not illuminate the road, that's the function of your car's lighting. This headlight will have a retrofitted 9006 HID system into it and we'll take pictures of it:)
z-lite 06-20-2005, 06:42 PM How does one wire the demon eyes to turn on? Is it a switch that goes in one of the 4 slots on the left side of the steering wheel or can we have it turn on when we put our parking lights (not the low or high beam, but the very dim light that turns on right before you turn the knob to turn on the low beam lights)?
