Note: I don't make a point of double-posting, but I felt this topic was relevant enought to post here in the Dealer Experiences section to show the kind of treatment you should expect from Koons Scion of Annapolis.
I took my car to the dealership for warranty repairs- things that shouldn't have needed to be fixed in the first place- and they wrecked my car!!! Someone parked my car near a fence & the idiot ___ technician pulled it out smashing the side into a pole, then continued to pull out, dragging it down the side. My quarter panel is trashed!!! The also took a chunk of rubber out of the tire & probably damaged the wheel.
They took it to their body shop & the estimate is somewhere around $750. They wrote to replace the quarter panel, but didn't include the price of the quarter panel, & didn't write to replace my tire or wheel, so I already know the repairs are going to cost more than that. I don't think they even included the price of paint!
I just bought my car on February 12- it was built in January- and it only had 450 miles on it. I told the dealership that I want a new car, which I don't think is out of line & I told them that if they will only repair my car I don't want it repaired there. They have refused to replace my car or pay for the depreciaton to it, they've told me that they will only pay the amount of the estimate from their body shop (which I know is incorrect), and that if I don't have it repaired there, they will not pay or give me a loaner car to drive until my car is fixed. They also have not offered to compensate me in any way for the time & stress they've caused me or my time off work so far.
Not to mention they didn't even do the warranty repairs my car was originally in there for. They couldn't align my car (it was off since the day I picked it up) because they haven't done any tC alignments yet & don't have the specs for it.
What do you guys think is reasonable?
On a side note, the sales department has continued to be great. They're the only ones who have been helpful to me at all. Brian, the Scion sales manager, is the only one who has apologized to me & displayed any sympathy for me at all. He also immediately offered to replace the wheel & tire. I've had trouble contacting the service department and the upper management, but the sales department has kept in touch with me and continued to be there for me to offer their support and help.
