I just wondered how much more people here have automatic than manual.
Manual seems to be rare. I had to wait 2 weeks for mine.
So, POLL up :)

View Full Version : Poll: Manual or Automatic. Which do you have? tyap 12-30-2010, 11:37 PM I just wondered how much more people here have automatic than manual. Manual seems to be rare. I had to wait 2 weeks for mine. So, POLL up :) sciontc323 12-31-2010, 12:19 AM I got manual from the dealer when I got my tc in 2005 even though I had never driven manual . Do ma dad drove my car home and I learn in 30min. First place I drove on my own after that was to PCH in santa Monica. I was sh***** bricks. lol .... nylitc 12-31-2010, 12:35 AM Manual is better for performance mods jeremydoc 12-31-2010, 01:56 AM @sciontc323 my situation was somewhat similar. my tC was my first car that stick. i had to have my brother drive it home for me. i got home with it at 2 p.m. and had work at 5. i was taking deliveries that day with my car. so 3 hours was all i had to practice. haha Superpickel 12-31-2010, 03:35 AM I was raised driving manuals. Thanks Dad... N0AuTHoRiTy 12-31-2010, 03:52 AM All my cars that I have owned are manual. I had the whole concept of driving manual figured out by reading up on it and watching videos. I decided to learn/practice on my own by purchasing my very first car, a 93 Prelude Si. Ever since then, I decided that every car I own will most likely be manual. I have not gotten tired of driving manual even once after owning 3 cars which were manual in a period of 7 years. 1stOne 12-31-2010, 04:11 AM I tracked mine down before it arrived, so I knew where the manuals were going. But it was worth the wait. Much more fun rowing your own gears. mindoculae 12-31-2010, 12:10 PM automatic, no regrets. i think its tedious and unnecessary to constantly shift through gears. especially in city driving. i think on average, people who join car forums are more likely to feel an emotional bond with their vehicles and want that extra connection to the car afforded by manual transmissions. SR0529 12-31-2010, 12:47 PM I got auto, but I want manual so bad now even though I'm don't really know to to drive. lol VVTinme 01-01-2011, 03:17 AM I won't vote because I haven't bought mine yet, but I'll be getting a manual transmission. All my cars until now have been automatic and I'm looking for something that will make the driving experience more enjoyable. Superpickel 01-01-2011, 05:11 AM you won't regret it. Manuals are fun. Don't listen to the downers and their automatics. It's no more of a hassle than turning up your stereo while rolling a window down and talking on the phone (and chewing gum). Anyways, all the auto drivers are playing with the triptronic feature... posers... tyap 01-01-2011, 06:57 AM I'm surprised to see so many manual owners here. 2011crimson 01-01-2011, 12:59 PM I have owned over 20 vehicles and only one was automatic, and the original plan was to convert that one to manual. Bonus: my wife cannot drive a stick, so she never tries to drive my car. mmmpshh 01-01-2011, 04:07 PM auto to manual... john2011TC 01-02-2011, 01:08 AM couldnt drive manual at all but my friend taught me twice, then my dad taught me and now i dont regret getting manual at all i love it. Superpickel 01-02-2011, 05:49 AM x2 to the wife not being able to drive. In the 3 years I had my 07 tC, she drove it 2 times, both times because I was inebriated and unable to legally drive. However, I was coherent enough to hear her grinding gears and burning rubber... which is why I drive, everywhere. jeremydoc 01-07-2011, 04:26 AM couldnt drive manual at all but my friend taught me twice, then my dad taught me and now i dont regret getting manual at all i love it. dogg, gimmie some credit here. haha biglilsteve 01-07-2011, 12:02 PM I drive an auto; my tC2 is a daily driver. But driving a manual isn't tedious or pointless, and driving an auto and using manual shift function from time to time doesn't make you a poser. They both have their benefits and drawbacks, so let's keep the peace! Blackedout011TC 01-08-2011, 03:38 AM Test drove an auto. I liked it, but still opted to wait a few weeks for my dealer to get a manual in for me. Love the manual tranny, except for cold mornings.... It feels like i have peanut butter for gear oil until the tranny fully warms up 20 minutes later. |
