StevisXb 03-10-2005, 10:49 AM Any thoughts yet on pricing? Will you offer to sell with a sub?
Looks real nice!
hotbox05 03-10-2005, 11:04 AM What's the point in putting a sub there but killing a speaker in the process?
TexasIceBox 03-10-2005, 11:50 AM looks great i would get one but duw to were my airbag set up is i had to take out the bottom pieces there so the box you have would not set on anything
any suggestions
TheDanger 03-10-2005, 12:11 PM you should have one for each side. looks good so far!
superjeer 03-10-2005, 03:01 PM What's the point in putting a sub there but killing a speaker in the process?
ooo, good catch. Maybe there should be a OEM speaker box within the box?
Lonely_Raven 03-10-2005, 03:33 PM Those speakers are pretty well worthless back there though.
Hardly even rear fill they way they are positioned.
I'd like to see one of those sub boxes for the left side also!
What's the expected pricing?

I doubt you can even hear those speakers in the back if your sitting in the front of your car. I know with my car people can't hear shyt in the back of my car except THUMP THUMP THUMP.
WagenMaster 03-10-2005, 03:47 PM I have a friend that made his own rear cargo cover out of plywood, replacing the OEM cloth one, and the music was definitely muffled because of it.
You may think that the sound coming from them is not heard up front, but it definitely is.
Any pricing estimates Kreative Imports?
Will you be making one for the other side too?
Kreativeimport 03-10-2005, 07:33 PM no pricing estimate yet. as for the guys asking about one for the other side we are only offering the single side but we have a few more applications in the works that are a universal mounting plate.
These will be set up for dual 10's, dual 12's as well as tri plates for each. They will be made to install to a wooden box but give the nice exotic shapes and be paintable or offered in carbon fiber.
The cost of having a shop hand fabricate a custom enclosure like that would be probally 2-3 times what we can mass produce them for.
jocdoc 03-10-2005, 07:46 PM i don't quite get it . what's the point of using one when a good dually or single one on the center keeps you sound centered. a 12 in the center would be cool. then i could add my 2 amps around it.
Kreativeimport 03-10-2005, 07:53 PM bass is non directional. This sub enclosure is for the customer that wants to add some bass, keep most of the hatch available and also have something that looks good. These enclosures can be painted, or upholstered in carpet or vinyl.
The other baffle plates we're releasing will be for the customer that wants to fill the space up back there with custom audio

Correct me if i am wrong! BUT, i think the sub was desinged for a TC hatch! Not an xb or xa! RIGHT?
Kreativeimport 03-10-2005, 08:06 PM you lost me.
WagenMaster 03-10-2005, 09:17 PM Well I personally would really be interested in the exact same thing, but having one on each side.
Two 10"s and the enclosures in Hot Lava....mmmm...that'd be sweet.
Having only one would look weird IMO.
ksl_redsoxfan 03-11-2005, 03:54 AM i think the idea is perfect for people who want the space in the back and still have a little boom, boom to go with it. is it portable? and i think it is cool to be able to keep your spare tire also,(never know when you might need it!)
Kreativeimport 03-11-2005, 03:57 AM it can be installed to be removeable
windowtint 03-11-2005, 04:17 AM There is no such thing as "GRADE A CARBON FIBER".
Sorry, it may be irrelevant, but everytime I see that it just irks the crap outta me. Sellers are real bad about that on eBay too - they heard something, it sounded good and it gets passed along.
There's no grade "A", "B", "C" or 1, 2, 3....
Kreativeimport 03-11-2005, 05:48 AM Grade A as in no misweaves and top quality finish. Also UV protected so our parts don't fade
Sid_xBicious 03-11-2005, 06:17 AM whats the drag coefficient of this sub? j/k :silly:
Kreativeimport 03-11-2005, 06:23 AM we're gonna test that in the wind tunnel tomorrow after we dyno it
Dashin 03-11-2005, 07:21 AM I'm very interested in this product. I had a sub mounted in basically the same postion in my last car. It provided plenty of bass for me. I guess I'm just getting old. Do you have an ETA for this product?
Kreativeimport 03-11-2005, 07:23 AM i'll have an eta in the next week
Jugglah 03-11-2005, 12:41 PM Wow.... for $0.00 it's quite a deal! :P
ksl_redsoxfan 03-11-2005, 01:29 PM i think its gonna be awsome, did you say that you will offer it in carbon fiber and ready yo paint? and thats cool that you can have a custom look without the custom price!
StevisXb 03-11-2005, 01:47 PM I hope the price is less than what AudioFormz is charging?? I think they want $350 with a Diamond Audio sub, $250 w/out.
Kreativeimport 03-12-2005, 03:27 AM pricing will be very good I'll post more information when I get my manufacturing costs calculated
ksl_redsoxfan 03-15-2005, 02:54 AM great idea for space and that custom look
K_Dawg_ONE 03-16-2005, 01:05 AM would like to see one for the other side too....
suspended 03-16-2005, 04:09 PM I see two problems with this enclosure, as people said losing the speaker back there, and also access to changing out the taillight bulbs...looks good though
K_Dawg_ONE 03-16-2005, 07:29 PM Im not worried about the rear speaker....the rear speaker is rear fill. The sub will take place of the rear fill once installed anyhow....
ksl_redsoxfan 03-17-2005, 01:55 AM i believe the box is portable, so you can take it in and out.
totallyboardz 03-29-2005, 02:44 AM Any updates on these boxes??????
xmetalx 03-29-2005, 07:03 AM please make some square ones to fit my 10" kickers

cheapsunglasses 03-29-2005, 03:13 PM Make one of those to fit over the left hand side. If it's removable than taking it out to get to my spare wouldnt be so bad. I think it looks awesome and would definetly be interested as an alternative to let's say an expensive Audioformz, but if you are producing a product and trying to save us cargo space at the same time; i see myself using my storage area a lot more than needing to get to my spare.
Lonely_Raven 03-29-2005, 03:38 PM I agree, I'd really need it on the left hand side. For several
reasons.
One, I use the cubby space on the right for storing my
quick detailing products and emergency stuffs.
Two, if anyone was going to haul something really long in the
box, the right side is where you'd do it (drop the seat and
passenger seat).
So unless there is a left hand one, I won't buy it. Though I
do want one because it would look really nice color matched
to the box!!
cheapsunglasses 03-29-2005, 06:18 PM Any word Kreativeimport?
Think you guys could make the box for the left hand side instead of right? Great concept as i wanted to put something back there but still wanted to retain the ability to throw some luggage in the cargo area without it sitting directly on a Sub.
If you can make it on the left you have one sold.
THE_DON 03-29-2005, 06:35 PM Make it left side and I'm in too...
-THE DON
ksl_redsoxfan 04-06-2005, 04:05 AM if any of you are going to the Elkgrove meet the sub box will be there for display, and i do believe it will be hooked up so you can hear it also. The box doesn't matter what side it is on because it removable, and it is really easy because it is not molded to the car. And for those that think it will make a difference where you can't hear the back speakers, it would not matter because that would go with any speakers lined up in the back. Plus you really can't hear those speakers when it is stock.
xvolcomx88 04-06-2005, 04:27 AM Looks sweet.
dat_freak 04-06-2005, 04:39 AM what is the mounting depth going to be?
crayonBOX 04-06-2005, 05:11 AM i love the design; but i'm with everyone on having a left side one made (drvr side)...once they make it, consider a pair sold :) id do both

sensez 04-06-2005, 05:19 AM hows the sound?
sen-
ksl_redsoxfan 04-06-2005, 01:21 PM more than likley they will make one for both sides and i believe different sizes also.
failed_ethics 04-07-2005, 01:08 AM How does it mount? Loose box + sub = extremely heavy flying projectile in accident. Will the volume of the 12" version be more? Is it possible access the storage compartments? Is it easy to access them? What type of terminals are used? How many layers of fiberglass were used/will be used?
I'll think of more, but lets start here.
O ya, the direction of the sub may cause cancellation(loss of bass) ESPECIALLY if you produced a left version and they were used together. Since this is a prototype, maybe you could change it to angle towards the back hatch more for the production models? I, like the others would also like to see a leftie version as I would love to run duals of your enclosure.
Kreativeimport 04-08-2005, 04:56 AM We are only making this version of the sub box. We will have a few boxes available soon and I will post them here.
We will have a different style baffle available for multiple subs in 10" and 12" sizes and I'll post about that soon as well.
This enclosure was made to be a space saver and look really good at the same time with a paintable or carbon fiber finish.
the multiple sub baffles will be setup for rear or upward firing and feature the molded exotic shapes possible with fiberglass enclosures as opposed to a standard mdf box.
jayrod 04-08-2005, 12:49 PM Well I personally would really be interested in the exact same thing, but having one on each side.

Absolutely! I'd really like to see enclosures made for both sides. Any updates on the status of this enclosure project?

that's a shame when you obviously have pretty decent demand for a box to go on the other side.. I'd buy a set for sure.

Awesome, thanks for answering all...I mean NONE of my questions.
Im with everyone else on making it for both sides!
timinaz 04-09-2005, 01:55 AM How soon?
ksl_redsoxfan 04-09-2005, 03:35 AM sorry to inform that the sub box will not be done by Elk Grove meet.
Kreativeimport 04-10-2005, 03:37 AM The boxes are 3/8" thick and made of fiberglass, knytex, and gelcoat
To install it you should bolt it down. I will doccument the install in our donor xB for all to see.

i agree... do you plan on making one for the other side as well??? I really like the layout... wouldnt mind upgrading my 8" bazookas for some 10" subs with that enclosure... keep us updated, i'll sell all my junk on ebay to get the money for it :)
excel_xb 07-15-2005, 07:38 AM what is going on with this??
Big_hungry 07-15-2005, 12:21 PM hmmm interesting sub box. so yea wha tdid ever happen to it?
ksl_redsoxfan 07-16-2005, 12:39 AM it should be out in august.
excel_xb 07-16-2005, 11:01 AM it should be out in august.
do you know what the price is going to be?
ksl_redsoxfan 07-17-2005, 01:30 AM i believe it will be $299.00
Scott17 07-17-2005, 02:53 AM Just for the box alone or with a sub?* cough cough*Audioformz*
ksl_redsoxfan 07-17-2005, 04:53 AM Take a look at there web sight www.kreativeimport.com
Xbilly 07-29-2005, 02:36 PM Still waiting on this?
Lonely_Raven 07-29-2005, 03:21 PM I gave up on this.
I'm still thinking one on each side would be good, and/or
having one on the left is better then the right. The RIGHT
side of the xB is where people would fold down the seat to
haul long things like ski's, or wood, or in my case, guitars in
hard shell cases. So blocking the right side is not an option
for me.
Add to that other manufacturers are making nice 1/2" 'glass
dual 12" boxes for about this same price...it doesn't make
sense.
So what's the hold up?
