.

So I ordered these side emitting LED flexible strips from Oznium.com and installed them today on my xA. I got the cool white 12" strip for each side and used the baking procedure to pop my lights open

The strips have a 3M adhesive backing and I reinforced them with a couple spots of carefully placed hot glue. I then drilled a small hole about 3/32" to run the wire trough, and used silicone to seal it once it was in place.

Since I had my headlamps apart I figured I would clear the corners and paint the chrome "boomerang" trim piece black to give it a more Euro look.

So here it is finished, they look really good, took only 2 hours and cost $35, now the only problem is I need HIDs to match, prob gonna get 10000k, any one know any good deals on HIDs?

I think an 8000k HID kit would match nicely, but worried about getting a ticket, I live in Central Florida, anyone been hassled by the police for HIDs?

Not my style but well executed.

Nope, never got a tkt, should be fine, 10k or 12k might, but even then.

Very nice, great execution, I'd love to see a pic at night without the headlights on.

and I think unless you're living in Cali you don't have to worry about being hassled for HID's

I've installed these on my xD and five tCs, and every set has started failing within 6-8 months. Its usually somewhere in the middle of the strip, so its obvious. I install them on the exterior of the headlamp assembly, but I don't think its the cause of the failures, just poor craftsmanship on the part of the cheap chinese company sub contracted to make them for oznium. Just wanted to let you know, since you'll have to bake your headlamp open again when you start having problems with them.http://184.72.239.143/mu/47c81ed8-018b-f0c9.jpghttp://184.72.239.143/mu/47c81ed8-01a5-aded.jpghttp://184.72.239.143/mu/47c81ed8-01ba-8fc9.jpghttp://184.72.239.143/mu/47c81ed8-01d9-f523.jpghttp://184.72.239.143/mu/47c81ed8-021d-4fbb.jpg

If and when the LEDs fail ill just snip the wires and plug my running lights back in, the strips are so small you really cant see them when they are off so i'll just leave them in there, $30 for 6-8 months? it's not like I bought a whole new assembly w/ LEDs for hundreds of bucks. Getting these was a great excuse to get HIDs so if they fail i'll get over it.

Any one have Oznium strips last longer than 6-8 months????

I preheated the oven @ 250 degrees then cooked a headlight for 1 minute @ 250 then turned the oven off and let the heat decelerate for another 10 minutes this is a lot easier than people think

http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6898a05-b6bd-f67c.jpgI went through two sets on mine. They were on the outside.
I def liked the look of it but don't want to have to keep redoing it. I wanted to try and put some projectors in but I can't be without my headlights for a few days.
