Here's the story: I was heading home from the gym today on Colonial (for the locals if you saw me ..maybe lol) and I got the green. Guy in the oncoming traffic turning lane ran the red and hit me. He was in a Honda Odyssey and drove away with barely any damage. Without a doubt he had <$600 in repairs. Anyway ..anyone think its totaled? As you can see the airbags were deployed and my seatbelt will not retract (a big factor in rebuilding I think) and smoke filled my cabin when I got hit. Coolant spilled onto the road, either from the radiator, maybe the reservoir IDK. Maybe I'll get an opportunity to hop myself into a new tC lol.

I highly doubt it is totaled... the airbags are a big deal and expensive... but I don't even know if that's enough.

pfft this is nothing. You just need a few parts i bet you barely hit your crash bar. The air bags can be replace (insurance should cover that).

Edit- this was my tc when i bought it and it was rebuilt. Yes a Rebuilt title of course. But with your damage i don't think you would get a rebuilt title.

Front bumper, upper and lower grill, fender, hood, air bag, fog lights, headlight..... looks like ur wheel alignment is fine but u should pop the hood and take a pic. Its guna depend how far your front support is bent in. Looks fixable other then that.

I didn't think to pop the hood. I was more caught up in finalizing everything with the trooper.

I saw the damage on the Honda. The guy had a slightly dented in bumper with mostly scratches and a cracked headlight from what I saw. My girlfriend and I were amazed at how little damage the Honda received.

I do not think that this will be totaled. I got rear ended in my 2001 4Runner guy hit me going about 30-50 MPH and I was at a rolling stop. The damage done well I should stay the total repair bill from the body shop was $5,600 this was only 1 year ago. They did not total out my 4Runner. I have no clue on to why the spent that much to fix my rear end. I was only hurt a little bit well oh k I guess having a herniated disk is better than a broken back.

What year 4runner bc it basically matters on insurance money. If the value of your car is exceeded by the value to put it back together then its not worth it. If you have a 40k 4runner and you do 5k damage to it its 1/8 the value but if you do 5k damage to a 18k car thats its over a quarter of the cars value. Granted these cars are obviously used so the value has depreciated. So those numbers are even closer.

Smoke? Don't airbags have powder in them? And an actual explosive charge that inflates em... maybe that caused the smoke

Sometimes insurance don't want to total the car. When my truck was hit by a drunk driver his insurance paid like 18k to repair my truck (including replacing the entire frame) which was estimated to be worth like 13 or 14 (can't remember) then we fought them for 6k more in depreciation. Woulda been a lot easier to total it but the bastards didn't...

My 2001 Eclipse had a repair cost of about 5300 ..the cost of the car at the end was around 2 grand plus that ..and they decided to repair lol jerks. I guess tomorrow they'll determine if its totaled or not. I just crossed over 76k on the odo and its an 08. I'm sure I'll be upside down and I don't have GAP so I hope they repair it lol.
