why have 2 starter wires? why not wire them together? (remote start)
hi everybody,
what is the purpose for having 2 starter wires?
when installing a remote start, instead of using a relay to power the 2nd starter, why not just wire the 2 wires together? what are the downfalls of this?

I suspect that the two different circuits have significantly amperage requirements and that tying them together could blow one of them out. Best bet is to keep them seperated since they were designed that way. Maybe nothing would happen but is it really worth a $5 dollar part to find out?

I know in Nissans it was a cold start sensor. The wire sent voltage to a sensor/switch that would activate something when it was cold to help start the engine. Just use a relay and play it safe, do you really want to chance messing something up in your car when you could have just used a relay?
