Default lip spoiler coming off?

when i ordered my FM tC the dealer told me not to get the lip spoiler because they had a problem with the adhesive coming off in hot summer weather. has anyone had this problem with their's, or are the just blowing smoke up my a**?

I'm pretty sure the lip spoiler is bolted to the trunk.

Hmm, in any case, it'll be covered by warranty if you get it installed by the dealer, if not, I'm sure the spoiler has a product warranty.

not necessarily... I have the lip spoiler and the pass side is starting to let go... not bad... like 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap. Its going to go back to dealer if it gets worse.

I am sure they will fix it, because it's under warranty. I haven't noticed any gaps or anything on the rear lip spoiler that i have. More then likley they were just trying to sell you the more costly pedestool spoiler. But still there could be problems with that, you just never know. Just get it installed at the dealer and they will warranty it. And honestly...get what YOU like not what they tell you to get.

That doesn't sound good. How's that going to work for aftermarket spoilers that aren't bolted on and all 3m adhesive, ie: TRF? If the smaller dealer lip one is starting to peel, larger ones might last even less.

this has happen to me. i bought it with the car. it is bolted on the adhesive was coming off. warranty takes care of it. when i took it to the dealership, they said whoever put it on did it incorrectly. i also think it didn't help that i got the car in january when it rained for 2 weeks. anyway, they stuck a brand new one on, and no problems since then.

When I got my car they hadn't even flattened the sides of the lip down. I noticed it when I took it home and did it myself. the 3M tape seems to hold pretty securely and if it eventually gives it's a real easy fix.
