Scion1616, what is the offset of your front rims? Are you rubbing on the bracket that mates the front bumper to the fenders?

I have air. Id reccomend replacing your rear shocks with TRD or something of that nature since the stockers will ride like crap after a month or two. Consider an accumulator for the rear as well.

What up people... My airride kit is in the mail as we speak... can't wait to get it hooked up. However, just wondering what the general install price was. I'm taking it to be about a 6 hour install which should be like 4 bills. This right or am i completely off? Hit me back soon!!!

after setting the car on blocks and all 4 wheels off 2 days its not bad if you have everything you need right there . but when you gotta run here and there to get items
the days are longer.

i was reading that there was gonna be a step by step posted soon... i actually have a guy here at work that has installed air kits many a time, so i dont need to go to a shop per se, but i'd like to read up so i can jump in and help him out myself. You happen to know where the post is?

I did mine in stages. I built the valves, and installed them, ran the wires, gauge lines, and air lines. Then, a few days later, I mounted the tank, valves and compressor. Few nights after that, I installed the rear. Lastly, I installed the fronts. Note: all I had to do was swap in the struts as all the lines were ran. All total, I probably have 20 hours in it, but over 2 weeks. (Married, kids, full time job, etc.) I did all the work in the driveway after work. That way, I was never with out a vehicle the next day. ALso gave me time to chase air leaks...be prepared for that! :) I, by myself, would not have attempted to get it done in a weekend, too much for one person to do, and keep the install clean at the same time.

ps.: I do recommend buying the Monroe #5870 shocks for the back. I got that # from Phil (boxzilla). Napa has them for $29 each, autozone has them for $22 each. Either way...my trailing arm lays against the underside of the box now. I'm only 2" off the ground out back..nice and low...way lower than with factory shocks.

where did you put the tanks?

For now, my tank is behind the back seats. Once I finish the new fiberglass speaker enclosure, I will incorporate the tank into that deisgn.

Did you retain the rear bumpstops at all or just ditch them? Which rear kit are you using?

My rear bumpstops are cut in half right now and it sits about 2 inches..

I cut my factory bumps stops in half and my rear fender lip was about 1/2" above the top of my 18" rim, when sitting on the bump stop. With the new shocks, I can tuck about 1-1/2" rim now. They ride equally as good or better than stock. When I let the air out, my rear trailing arm stops on the bottom of the underside of the body. I am happy with them, and do not hesitate to recommend them. I use the airlift co rear kit (sleeve bag).

Thank you for the info. I have the same setup on my rear. I might check out those shocks when my TRDs are in need of replacement.

You dont even have air ride do you? Dont you run cheap ebay coilovers? That reply was about as helpful as a pimple on my butt.

Just be aware that you can bottom out, (with the shorter shocks), if you are rolling with the back end down too far, and you nail a bump.. :) I speak from experience. I wont go any less than 40psi in the back while driving now; whereas, with the stock shocks, I could ride around with it on the bumpstops if I wanted to...(crappy ride though..haha)

what are you running in the front,
i have the kit but i have not installed it yet , i have the sleeve bags for the rear and the airlift struts for the front, but im thinking about using 2 two gallon tanks with 2 compressors, what you think? also i want to mount underneath the car i wish some one would post a good picture of there undercar install so i could get a general idea of where to begin , iwant to do this install myself.

with 80psi, I can clear any bump or speed bump in the front. cant tell much differnce between 80psi and 100psi in the ride. BUT, with 120psi, it is rough.
