jkchang626 02-11-2011, 09:43 PM Here are a few quick cell phone shots. Photo shoot coming... one day hahaha.
3M Venture Shield Paint Protection Film with Matte Finish installed on the exterior of the tC.
Thoughts? Comments? Misc?
yellowxhoodie 02-11-2011, 09:53 PM what am i missing?
Just looks like a white tC2 to me.
jkchang626 02-11-2011, 10:05 PM Just a matte white (flat) finish. Hard to see in photos.
So it is a vinyl shield? like the bug shield stuff?
The car looks good btw I like it. You should have pulled off the black pillar stuff though
yellowxhoodie 02-11-2011, 10:27 PM So the whole car was vinyl wrapped?
davedavetC 02-11-2011, 10:35 PM im with you cory it looks like a regular white tC i think you should really specify what youre talking about

Yea, it's the bug-shield stuff with a matte finish.
So the whole car was vinyl wrapped?
Yes. The whole exterior was wraped, front to back. It's a bit hard to capture in photos. Added a pic of it sitting next to a Super White xB. Maybe it'll help.

trdscion 02-11-2011, 11:15 PM OP, pretty clear to me what you were talking about in original post. Looks good, and the pictures seem to capture it pretty well.
It looks awesome, not bad for a brand new car. Hows the maintenance? How much do you charge?
FMTC08 02-12-2011, 12:13 AM nice! im really starting to like the tc2 enough to start considering trading in my tc1 :ponder:
mmmpshh 02-12-2011, 01:02 AM Very nice!!! Im actually getting my car painted in matte white as we speak!
yellowxhoodie 02-12-2011, 05:42 AM Interested in seeing some closer pics of areas like the bumper and door handles? How did you guys manage that?
STlTCHES 02-12-2011, 09:45 AM I love it!
Looking into wrapping my 1st gen here in the summer flat black.
Vinyl has a wicked learning curve bite you in the butt till you get some time with it.
yellowxhoodie 02-12-2011, 03:00 PM For the price it costs to have a full vinyl wrap professionally done you could just buy a paintjob. The only cool thing about going with vinyl is its reversible.
CSOCSO 02-12-2011, 03:29 PM I dont think so.... vinyl wrap is expensive but flat black is a different story. Needs no printing and lamination so all they have to do is order the roll of 3m matte black which is around 500 and charge for the installation. it should come out around $1200, maybe less. Normal vinyl wrap will run in to the 2000s...
CSOCSO 02-12-2011, 03:33 PM You will have hard time around the front bumber but the rest should be ok. You need to take off lights,grills and wheels if you are lowered. Btw i just saw the matte white in the oc. Looks BADASS!
jkchang626 02-12-2011, 04:23 PM We were originally considering a paint treatment, but the cost for a proper one is just... not wallet friendly... plus the care for it is ridiculous. We ended up using the 3M Venture Shield material, which definitely isn't that cheap by any means, but it also offers rock chip protection :rofl: and it's much easier to clean than real matte paint.
We looked at the printed-type wrap material as well, but we have those on our Sienna shuttles and they only last about 18-24 months before needing reapplication. With all the edges properly hidden, I think this will last much longer. I'll get a few close up pics up shortly.
CSOCSO 02-12-2011, 05:48 PM This is the best Vinyl (http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Graphics/Scotchprint/Prod-Info/Series1080/) right now to go with flat look.
Looks awesome and fantastic to work with. too bad they dont have too many colors :(
Scion Canada 02-14-2011, 12:37 PM The matte white looks really good!

is it a good idea to put wax on that film? i would think
matte = textured
wax = smooth
