hmm~ good question!

Being a xA owner, I do have some bias towards the xA, but I've also had much experience driving a tC and it is a great car to drive. Very torquey and fun to drive~

So... To answer your question, I would get the tC since I already have an xA :P BUT if I didn't have one, I would get the xA instead and wait for the RS 2.0 to come out :D Blue is my second favorite color!

rs 2 xA is the way to go... It's a nice color and you'll stand out from the sea of tC owners...

Be different, get an xA!

I think the tC is a very good buy for the money, just like xA and xB.

I also think that the tC being the "sportiest" car in Toyota's US line up is a joke.

I bought an xA because if I bought a tC, I'd be tempted to get back into street racing again... and if I wanted to race, I'd go buy another 4WD turbo like a 90' Mitsubishi Eclipse or an equivalent model with a turbo 4G63 engine. I'm not a big fan of front-wheel drive sports cars, but I do like the design of the tC.

the tC is nice, but the exterior looks to me like a swollen rsx.

I want the Celica back :x

xA RS 1.0 of course! (and not just because I have #240)

I passed a tC on the road today and mentioned it to my 16 yr. old sitting in the passenger seat... and his quote, "That's just like any other car... yours is cooler dad."

How about a XB RS 1.0 and a XA RS 1.0
Go for the XA. The TC is just another car.

Even if there are more xAs then tCs, that's only because they've been on the market alot longer than the tC has been.

If there arent more tC's on the road then the xA, there will be soon. The xA has the lowest sales while the tC has the most.

The advantage of the tC is going to be performance. If going fast doesn't matter all that much to you, I'd suggest going with the xA RS2. It's going to be a lot cheaper to buy, lower insurance and better fuel economy. If you need rear seat passenger room-- get an xB because the tC isn't really much better in that department than the xA.

My vote for you is for the xA RS 2.0

While the tC does have better performance than the xA/xB, it's not exactly mindblowing acceleration. If I opted for good performance, I would have gotten an Si or a base RSX since it is a much better platform to mod on in terms of overall performance (not just straightline street racing I mind you)

The tC however is an excellent car stock and for a daily driver it's the best in it's class :D

I actually like the fact that xA's are selling less :P It makes our little cars just that more cooler to own!

Sorry to pop you bubble. The TC is just another car. The appearance of an XA or XB is unlike any other car. However the XA and Matrix are close. When people see one they don't have to be looking for one. If you know what I mean. Unless you are looking for a TC, You will never know it's a Scion. It looks like every other car. I'm not cutting down the TC. I just like cars that stand out. The TC does not.

if i don't see a matrix and xA side by side... sometimes i'll mistake a matrix for an xA. but never the other way around.

:nope:
I just tried to buy an XA RS1.0 (It got sold out from under me).
I thought the fancy grille looked like cheesy chicken wire.

I bought a black cherry XA.

I have to agree with you there.

tC is really nice and an excellent value that feels like a more expensive car than it is, however its appearance is extremely ordinary and typical Toyota-generic instead of Scion-unique. It should have been a Toyota. Maybe Camry Solara Jr. Scion name should be reserved for vehicles that make a statement and cannot be mistaken for any other car on the road.

The xA won't look like the Matrix if you add a spoiler :)

I love both cars for different reasons. . . you need to reflect on which car appeals to YOU more. Buying a car based on other people's opinions is a bad idea, IMO. The person who will be driving it is you, not us. I do understand you are looking for more insight, but you got the basics down.

Now that I lectured you about other people's opinons, I will provide you with mine :P . I really like how rare the xA is. . . in fact, I kinda get mad when I see them on the road. I love it when people run up and ask questions about what it is, who makes it, blah blah blah. It really makes an impression. . . partly because it is so weird, which is good and bad. The tC is very sweet, just in a different way. I've had super nice cars before, but even a car like a Lexus will blend into the background. I got the xA to be different ( I would have gotten a box, but it was a little too different, although I kinda really want one now to complement the xA ). The tC is a great all around car. I love it too. In fact, if I wanted a coupe (I needed 4 doors), I would have bought one without a doubt.

I voted xA RS1.0 for the same reasons that I bought one. I was really into the tC. It is what turned me onto Scion. I never would have thought of me oxning an xA. But when it came down to actually buying my next car, all of reality took its course. The tC was a bit out of my price range, and not comfortable enough for the day to day ingress/egress that I needed in my daily commuter. The xA was in my price range, and since I already owned two coupes, my third car made sense to be a five door. Then the exclusiveness came up. I wanted something that would stand out. Red was perfect for this, (although Yellow would have been just a little better) and the limited production run was great too. Having what I believe to be a realatively low number (0194) is great!

Another point on being exclusive... Yesterday I was driving in downtown Boston. I was at a red light when I noticed a Porsce next to me, then I looked in my rearview and right behind this Porsce was another one! I do believe it was the same model too... So there were two Porsce vehicles right next to each other, a handful of Mercedes and BMW, but only one Scion xA within one city block...! I like those kind of numbers. 8) :D
