Default TRD Struts/Springs/Sway bar .. now what??

Just got lightweight 17x7.5 konig feathers and TRD struts installed yesterday to complete my TRD spring + sway bar. Definitely love the wheels and the car is handling great on turns but is there anything else I can do

I was thinking front strut bar but is that for strictly looks or does it actually help.

Anything else??

Front strut bar does jack crap. Whole point of a strut bar is to stiffen the suspension from strut tower to strut tower. The tC (and most of FWD's these days) site the strut bars right on the firewall, the stiffest part of the vehicle. So a cheap bar that mounts from each tower isn't going to stiffen it at all.

(I'll wait for someone to come in and argue that strut bars do amazing things)

cheap upgrades would be to remove all unnecessary weight, and to get a more aggressive handling alignment.

expensive upgrades are replacing all the suspension bushings and getting an LSD. or a set of hotchis front and rear sway bars.

I would get a really stiff rear and forget the hotchkis sways if you changed sways. The hotchkis will be nice, but after 4 seasons of autox in the tc I can tell you that corner exit traction is one of its weaknesses. Add more front sway and it will be dramatically worse. If I had an LSD then I would be more willing to run a stiffer front bar to help transitional response, since the lsd would help in the corner exit issues to some degree. But if I ran an lsd I would be classed much worse for autox too.

The setup you have is a good one. The next thing I would do (barring changing any of the components you already have) is focus on some nice, sticky tires if you have not already.

Ok so forget about the new strut idea thanks guys. Hmm LSD might be a nice mod to think about in the future.

I was thinking about getting these tires next

Hankook Venuts v12 EVO K110 .. seem pretty nice only about 97 bucks each

I'm still on the stock battery 100k miles about 7 years so I also ordered a lightweight braille battery. I dunno if the reduction of 25lbs off the front will help but figured I'd try to lose some more weight since i just lost 13 lbs of unsprung weight with the new wheels.

Lightweight batter is overkill IMO for a tC, especially one that is a DD.

Losing unsprung weight has more effect than losing sprung weight.

And honestly, due to the front heavy nature of the car, I would almost opt to move the stock battery to the rear, since you are transferring a higher percentage of weight from front to back. Sometimes that is a larger benefit than an overal loss of weight when you talk pure handling. But either will be a very, very small change. As mentioned, on a dd you likely will never notice it. 99% of the cars on here never are really pushed to their max, where a lot of this makes the most difference.
