anyone seen of heard about the horsepower war in Japan with the CRZ's? CRZ is Japans domestic car of the year. Spoon, TopSecret and HKS among others had been working diligently on them. Spoon pulled the engine and rebuilt it and with a retune was putting done around 200hp. of course a great suspension tune was put on. TopSecret threw a turbo on theirs also laid down about 200hp. I'm not sure where HKS started, but a recent Option magazine showcased the two latter vehicles. the TopSecret CRZ is up to 320hp with the HKS car doing the same with a supercharger. the Tsukuba lap times are 1:05 which pretty good for a 300hp fwd hybrid probably getting 35mpg while racing....i found a vid about the HKS car at least. too bad it's in japanese. but enjoy. I though it would be fun to sahre some ...ahem...insight in this car and it's real potential. despite the hate it gets in America

I personaly really like it despite all the hate.

My parents just picked one up to commute in. They say they love it. I am headed out to Cali this weekend, look forward to driving it and seeing what it's all about.
