Default HID Questions

Hey everyone,

I was looking at the DDMTuning site for a new set of HID's for our new 11' tC and was wondering about all the different types of bulbs. Does any one have a site I can look at that shows the difference between each bulb? I'm not sure I understand why you would have so many choices, does it affect light color\output or something?
Will I need a harness when I buy it? Error eliminator or adapter cables? I'm not to sure lol.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

In a nutshell, you don't need any extras. No harness, no error eliminator, no adapter cables. Just the kit itself and mounting brackets if you think they are necessary (I didn't use any).

The bulb color does affect light output. The brightest bulbs will be at 5000k. These are the purest white you can get. Any higher and they get bluer. Any lower and they get yellower.

You will find most everything you need to know about installing HIDs in this car in the thread I started here:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=197853

Read through from beginning to end...everything gets covered one way or another...with pics too!

Ok, thanks for the parts info. The bulb color I'm aware of as my last two Scions I had purchased HID kits for them, but they didn't have various Bulb Type options, only Bulb Color. What is the difference between an H1, H3 or 9004/HB1 bulb? The DDMTuning site has like 15 different options or something.

You need to use H11...it's our car's bulb type for the low-beams. The difference is just the type of socket that the bulb fits into, as well as the specifications of the bulb...I don't know exactly what sets all of them apart.

H11 is the exact replacement for our car.

Awesome! DDMTuning or HIDXenonHeadlights.com? My xB's set was from HIDXenon but DDM is cheaper lol

My fault man!

I'm running the DDMTuning 6000k 55w set. I love them...great output and nice color. Once they are warmed up its a gorgeous diamond white with ever so slight hints of blue/purp at some angles.

Nice, I had the 6K on my gen2 xB and liked it a lot. I'm thinking of going with 8K or 10K this time around though. Get more of a blue color on the white tC, think it would look nice xD

It's a sign...get the 55w. Our stock bulbs are 55w, so why not?

The slim kit appears to be available as of now...
