IM running stock header/midpipe and TRD catback....

Is there any benefit or gain in switching out the midpipe? and if so, recommendations?

Thanks for your HaLp

Please search. There are already numerous topics about this type of information.

It frees up some power but they are very very minimal. If you don't plan on pushing a lot of power I recommend getting a custom 2.25" mid-pipe with whatever resonator or cat of your choice. That way you can get it to sound the way you'd like and keep some low end torque since there are not many true 2.25" mid-pipes available for the tC.

There will be a small gain in HP and it will deepen and increase the sound of your axleback. It will remove the secondary catalytic converter which is illegal if it's in good working order and under xx,xxx amount of miles. The increase in power is minimal and at higher RPM which comes at the risk of losing some low end torque.

If your plan is to stick with an NA set up then a 2.25" or 2.5" maximum ID mid pipe would be ideal. Where for an FI set up you're going to want 2.5"-3" ID for reduced back pressure and better spool time.
