Default 55watt HID Question

I tried searching the forum for this and I couldnt find any type of post specifically related to my question. So the question is does anyone on this site have a 55watt HID and if so do you experience problems with both bulbs igniting and then imediately turning off, as well as problems with one bulb starting and then turning off. I switched from a 35watt Mobile HID kit last year to the 55watt LightWerkz.com kit. Ever since I've switch from 35watt to 55watt I've had these problems. It's not the kit because I've ordered about 2-3 sets of bulbs and 3 sets of ballast, as well as 3 wire harnesses. I even just recently ordered an expensive $75 wire harness from lightwerkz and I had the exact same problem. Is there a know issue with using a 55watt kit with our cars? Could the issue possibly be with my battery? Is it not giving enough power to initially start the bulbs? Im using 08 projectors on a 06 tc btw, so the bulbs are H11 bulbs, with a 9006 wire harness.

Hey guys I hate to bring this thread back to life but I am still having this problem, and now its getting to the point where the lights are not firing up at all. Now this has happened the past two nights. Yesterday I was able to get them to come on but continuously switching them on and off, tonight however I had to switch the ballasts out...any ideas...?

Are they connected to a relay wiring harness?

If there are the relay could be bad, if not replace the whole kit. HID kits are cheap.

So this is really starting to make me mad....now after I posted on here a few weeks ago, the problem stopped and the lights turned on everytime with no problem. Now they wont turn on AT ALL. I've tried changing the wire harness, bulbs and ballasts....what is happening??

Default hid kit

hey guys i feel this guys pain, trust me i do, i have had my fair share of kits over the years, never bought from HIDextra, but mobileHID is a great brand.

so heres my problem, i hope some body can help me. i just installed my HId kit from ddm tuning, 55w 9006 10000k, and went to turn them on and all i got was a buzzing sound from my fuse box i immediealty turned the battery off to check it out and i couldnt find anything, i turned the car back on a again a loud buzzing sound from fuse box......

i also installed a ddm tuning 35w h3 3000k kit for my fog lights, im afraid to turn the car back on. my gf has a 2009 scion xb with 55w both hi/low kit and the 35w kit for her fogs, absolutely no probs.

any advice

Sometimes this happens because of loose or wrongly connected connections. Disconnect ur battery, re-connect ur hid kit and check for unusual noises when u turn them on.

i reversed the polarity and checked the power on the passenger side, i wasnt getting any power, i thought it might have been the oem headlight harness gone bad due to three hids kits previously installed so i cut the harness and soldered a new one on, still no power...., i checked the fuse box and i had a blown fuse, lol, sometimes its the littlest things.

as far as my ddm tuning hid kit goes, i had problems with that aswell, the ballast and bulbs are ddm but the wire harness is for vrd (meng motorsports now) fog lights, i thought maybe the new fog light harness was bad but it wasnt cuz the bulbs bulbs would come on...flicker then go off, i was getting realling frustrated so i reverse the polarity on the raptor 35w ballast and they came on and stayed on no issues...., ah sometimes i dont like hids, but they sure are bright

I wish I saw this thread earlier, I would've suggested to check the fuse lol. it's one of those "DOH" moments.
