Out of curiosity would it help anyone if i did an install on a CAI? I know some people have some questions on it or are going short ram because they don't know what else is involved for the CAI. So to sum it all up. Do you guys want a CAI install for the 2011 tC?

Lol alright guys well I'll go ahead and order one and post up a video for those of you interested in getting one.

KidJustin- you don't like the short ram or the CAI that injen has? from my personal experience Injen as well as AEM have always really got their stuff together when it comes to their products and fully testing. in past experiences with other brands (k&n, do-it-yourself, etc.) other intakes perform decent but a/f ratios have gone array. A lot of times k&n intakes generally run lean to satisfy CARB but its more harmful while others send your a/f crazy throughout the power band. Not to mention I'm not a big fan of k&n's oil filter as you have to clean them every oil change or they get so clogged the rob you of the horsepower you pay a lot of money for. Every manufacturer incl Injen has issues when starting but now they really have their stuff together. I would recommend them for sure.

Oh so you just don't want a short ram? got it. I thought you just didn't want their brand. Well either way the video should help you out as they all generally sit in the same area

Injen makes a killer product. So does AEM. I would say both are on par really in the end, so can't go wrong with either.

Videos are always key to a good review, so post one up!

For competitive sake, I will be testing and reviewing the TRD prior to its launch. So for those waiting for that product, I will have it up as soon as I have one in hand.

Fully agree about aem. Won't get an intake unless its one of those two. I've had experience with a lot of intakes and a lot of them through your a/f's off or clog fast. Injen and aem are the best with my experience. Oh and a side note I'm going to start doing giveaways once I get more subscribers. The more subscribers I have the better the products I will give away :)

subscribed as well.. does it matter that my youtube account and scionlife account are different names?

Papa_Bear
03-11-2011, 08:43 PM
No because when I do the drawings it will be based off your youtube account. Since I do more then just scion installs. Once I hit 20 subscribers I will be giving away a set of exhaust hangers from torque solution either extended or normal length. Have them on my own car and a great addition to any exhaust. Then once I have more I'll do something more exciting like a gift card to obnoxious performance or a new motor mount. I'm going to see what I'm feeling and how many subscribers but I'll try and keep the giveaways consistent

Well here's the thing, I get parts for a lot of cars. I'm actually in the middle of doing a full motor mount set for 03-06 evos. So I think I will have you guys send a picture of your car and youtube account name to my email then right them down and draw one. The reason for this is because if I am giving away an injen intake for a 2011 tC I'm not going to want to give it to someone with an 09 wrx. I want these giveaways to benefit peoples cars and not have the person turn around and sell the part for dirt cheap and gain nothing from the part. This will also increase your chances of winning if you have the car for the giveaway that month. I get things for wrx/sti's, evos, tC's generally. Potentially more cars. So if you have friends with those cars let them know!

That'd be great! The issue is if you win then everyone will think it was rigged so you couldn't be a contestant which would exclude you from the pb&j drawing lol

@Donsun I stated in a previous post what I was thinking anout doing for the drawings. Once I hit 20 then I'll give away those hangars and the more to subscribe the better the parts will be :). But like I also said they should have the car as I don't want the parts to be sold for a pb&j lol. There's more info in previos posts on this thread

Naw, I've got two Scions to support my bad habits of friviously spending money rather than saving... Thanks for supporting my cause.

One question though. What would be the benefits of the exhaust hangers with a stock exhaust system?

Movement. The exhaust won't have half the movement or shake. It's similar to the reason you upgrade your motor mounts. The stiffer it is the less the motor will move and same with the hangers. The stiffer the hangers the less the exhaust will vibrate or shake or move around when at WOT. I'm up to 12 subscribers so just 8 more and we will get this thing going!

Papa, where do we send the pictures???

All the info will be given at the time of the giveaway as far as what to do in a video on YouTube. I just want to wait to do this til we do it all at once so I don't have a ton of scattered images from everyone and trying to get them all together. I'm going to have a separate email specifically for giveaways

I take it that by "subscribers" you mean people who are subscribed to this thread? I was unaware that you could see who the subscribers are if that's what you mean.

Anyway, count me in! I'm looking forward to seeing the video.
