A long while back me and some other folks tried to get a scion club started in OKC...we only met once and only me and 2 other peeps showed :doh: eveyone seemed to give up on it, I dont think they're even on SL any more

But anyways, I'm game if somebody wants to start one up...(preferably close to OKC)

Well, we have started it. The website should be up by the end of the week. But the club is based in Tulsa. I suppose you could start up an OKC chapter. or you could just come up to our meets.

I'm waiting to check out this website. I just might have to come up there because like I said before there just doesn't seem to be much going on here......unless it's a big secret and I know nothing about it.

Hey GloriusMidget, I was one of those that tried to get in the OKC club in the first meet. What happened that day was that I was installing my Injen intake and it was too late by the time I was done with it. In addition to that you know, Tulsa is a bit far from OKC so I just give up. By the way Queens, I'm in the Air Force also. I believe I saw your xB down in Tinker this past sunday parked in the AAFES, if yours is a Camo one.

We should all meet up at Sonic in Brookside on a Sat. night.

There is a Sonic at about 38th and Peoria that people gather at on Saturday nights, sometimes you have park across Peoria. Jasons Deli @ 61st and Memorial on Tuesday nights is anotherbig one.

We are planning a cookout and then a drive down to Sonic on Sat. the 16th. If you are interested, let me know. The cookout is going to be at my house so you will have to PM me for the address and directions.

Dang take a weekend off and se what happens! I would be interested in a club either in Tulsa or here in OKC or a OKC chapter whatever just some cool people that share the same common feeling for thier SCION! I think the reason we dont have much excitement here in Oklahoma for Scions is consumer education. How many times have you been asked "whats at thang?" and "Who makes it?"? The information just isnt circulating here but, I however do my best to inform every single person interested in what is is, who makes and why I LOVE IT! Anyway Im mostly stock right now with with only rims but, theres plans for a full paint job, lowering, stereo, interior, and a full sliding rag top. Its really the hgs car and she traded in a convertible for it so I told her wed make this a convertaible. lol

Hey Midget, King of Queens, and any other OKC'ers. Sorry I havent posted as much as I used to. I was the one who originally suggested the idea of a Scion OKC club back last September but got busy even though I went to the meet we had that one time. I think now the weather is getting nicer, we ought to go full speed at creating an OKC club again. I would be happy to organize or help out if someone else wants to. I've been doing DIY's and mods by myself but it would be cool if we could do them as a group. I did the DIY cabin airfilter and I made some other custom things as well. I also installed a DVD player and screen and would like to tackle other projects that would require other hands. We did this in another car club I was in as a group in addition to other events. I'll start a new OKC thread and guage interest and making this a reality finally!

Good luck with the OKC club. if you need any help, let me know, I'll do what I can.

I know of a few people in the Claremore and Pryor area. I just have not met them, just kinda drove by them. They drive xB's and probably have no clue about the club. But how do you reach these people? I think that when we get our logo's on our cars we wil have a bit more exposure!

I didn't mean it to be a "touchy subject". Don't be haters. You're just displaying the type of ego your political leaders in Tulsa have also which is why Tulsa has fallen significantly politically, economically, and culturally the last ten years to OKC's renaissance. Anyhow, I just thought it would be mutually beneficial for it not to say the only club in town or Oklahoma's Scion Enthusiast site anymore since, technically you are not the only club anymore. It would be odd if someone was using a search engine for scion club in oklahoma and pulls up two or more websites (hopefully Lawton will get one soon), and then they click yours and it says Oklahomas Only Scion club or something. Just a suggestion, nothing more.

Ouch that hurt Metro, technically we are the only club in town and I know for a fact were not changing that, furthermore saying stuff about our egos and so forth isn't really helping you any....so, this will be up to Frankenscion. I have said my peace :)

The only reason I mentioned some stuff was that the fact that I know alot of Tulsans, particuarly leaders have had a bitter resentment against our residents and it has shown alot lately in more than one ways. Your responses seemed to mimic those. Again, please don't take it as a personal attack. Yes, indeed you guys were "official" club in Oklahoma first even though we were meeting a year ago but are just now official. I was simply meaning it as a suggestion to again "mutually benefit" both clubs and to bring unity to the state. The website suggests your the only club in the state, not Tulsa. OKC is about an hour and a half from Tulsa. There is a club in OKC too.

FOR THE AUGUST 6th MEETING IN OKC (NORMAN)

We are meeting on the east side(The side NEAREST I-35) of Sooner Fashion Mall. That is a large mostly unused parking area.

For those not familiar with Norman, take the "Main Street" exit and head west. The mall is on the right(IF you are FACING WEST) JUST off of I-35. You will see it, it is NOT a tall building. only one story.

WE ARE MEETING AT 6:30PM!! If those of us that are at Slamboree aren't "done" yet, then there will be a "Scion Support Unit" there to meet with you and guide you to where the rest of us are. The "Scion Support Unit" is a white Pontiac Grand-Am. :loser: Go figure!! :doh:


EDIT: We are going to Los Dos Amigos in Norman for dinner. Thay have good parking for us and fair prices. And beer.

Just an update for everyone, we know have chapters in Ok. (Tulsa, OKC and possibly Lawton), Texas (Houston, San Antonio, and Austin) Upstate New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (Philidelphia).

Hey guys I'm really excited! I couldn't find a teaching job but I was able to get hired on at a day care......as director! The only person higher than me is the exec director. I will have an assistant and about 8 teachers and teachers aids that I will supervise. I'm really excited but it will be hard work! Just thought I'd share!

Well it depends on my salary! I have a high scion payment and rent and junk.....plus hubby is graduating next week from auto tech school then in few months signing on with Porsche. I'm negotiating my salary tomorrow so I'll see what I can get ok! I'd love to go though!

I went out to a contest here in SA. A local dealer &radio station were giving away a scion xB. Kris and I went there representing SDG and Scikotics. Well, a guy won, so right away Kris and I ran up there and introduced ourselves and she told him about Scikotics! Told him about the website too! YAY US!
