I'm on the fence between 17s or 18s for the momocorse black rpms.

I'm gonna get hankooks on them but I've seen some pics between the two wheel sizes(not on an xd specifically) and I had a few concerns.

I've seen some xds with 17 and 18 inch wheels but I wasn't sure if they had lowering springs.

Do rims look unflattering on the xd without lowering springs? I imagined it'd just fill the wheel well like the stock rims do but I didn't take into consideration of the bulky and odd tire size the stock xds use(don't get me started on that. Tire hunting for this car when you get a blowout is a pain in the ___).

Also is there that huge of a diff between the xds appearance between 17s and 18s? Will one fill the well better than the other without lowering?

The 17" momos come with 205/50/17 tires. The 18" are 215/45/18.

I was told by a car dealer that lowering a car ruins it's trade value by a lot. I decided to ask my friend how much he charges to install lowering springs and he said it's about $70 An hour and maybe 3-4 hours in work x.x

Lol. Every freaking place I call is telling me "well from the book it says the front axle is 3.2 hours and back axle is 2.8 so that's gonna be $560."

So I almost feel like even if it only takes 2.5-3 hours they'll milk it cause "the book says"

That's rediculous. That's double ifnot almost triple the price of the springs haha. But yea keep searchin local shop. No more than 200 bucks sounds about right

Uhh, ya? Lots of shops do that, but if they're honest they'll only charge what the book says even if it takes them longer.

Find who has basic mechanic skills, even without a lift it should not be that hard to do... make sure to rent a coil spring compressor too.
