xB in snow country
Ok.......I realize that this mght be a bit too practical but...........Has anyone spent much time driving an xB in the snow? I live in Montana where on occation it snows. I figure I'd put 4 skinny snows on it.
Does anyone have real life experience with an xB in snow?

The traction control, on a stick, works. It also stalls your car if you aren't aggressive in just stepping on the gas.
It's surprisingly easy to drive. I found myself sliding around a lot more in my older cars. I live in michigan... we don't get thousands of inches of snow a year or whatever, but when it snows it snows, and our roads where I live get really bad clearing.
The VSC stuff really comes in handy. Just when I was going to slide across an intersection and fishtail into another lane, "beepbeepbeep" and I got yanked back in line.
It does seem like you can get a lot of slip as long as the wheels don't just break free completely. Also, the back wiper is quite weak and if you try to clear a big wad of heavy snow off your back it will probably not work so well.
I don't have snow tires and I have not had a problem. If you are going to be driving through deep snow you might want to consider getting a truck since you'd probably damage the ground effects on an xB driving through deep heavy snow (snowplow, anyone?)

i have a stock tcm xb.. i live in jersey and we have had a tough winter... i never had a problem in snow at all... it proved itself on the way back from rhode island... usually a 3 hr drive... but a half hour out of rhode island we hit a heavy snow storm... well i drove nearly 6 hrs in anywhere from 3-6 inches of snow on the highways and i had the confidence to pass cars and keep a steady pace of 50 or so... i mean im sure you cant drive like an ___ but this car can really handle its self in most conditions... the traction control is great... even around my area when things ice up or some black ice creeps up on you the vsc and trac really come in handy...
