I was wondering what the other xd drivers use for their wheels+tires.

I'm trying to avoid rubbing and hopefully not needing spacers if I bought 18x8s with 225s at a +35 offset. I live in Vermont with an endless supply of potholes.

I read a few articles About offset,spacers, wheel size and tire fitment but nothing very car specific so I'm cutting right to the source.

What do you guys use?

you have a pretty good generic fitment for our cars, it should fit nicely without rubbing at stock height, if you are dropped and have a lot of weight in your car (system or full house) you may experience some.

I run 17x9.5 +30 with a 215/45/17 on ksport coilovers, rolled my fenders, but I rub all day regardless

oh and im sure louisiana roads arent much better, if not worse

Im looking at using 215/40/18 18x 8.75 i believe but with the wheels i want its like 1.5-2k for the package lol

215/40 doesn't look bad. Not sure how they will fair with our huge potholes here. Your xd isn't lowered?

225/40/18
Drop-Tanabe DF210's (Approx 2.2 rear 2.0 front)

Rubbing in rear yes...Had to modify rear fender...Chose to grind the inner lip instead of a fender roll...Now only rub if I hit a large bump...

Rubbing in front only occasionally on large bumps...No mods needed...

To be safe, if you want to run 18x8, go with a little higher offset or run a slighty stretched tire, such as 215/40/18 or 205/40/18...That's just from my personal experience...

Sounds like a plan. Thought the drop kit I'm looking at will only bring my car down 1-1.5. I can't really go lower in Vermont. I can. Just choosing to play it safe. I'm more paranoid of the width rubbing.

215s and 205s are not stretched on an 8 :p, you may see the slightest stretch on a 205 depending on how the tire is constructed though.

if you run a 215 i seriously doubt you'll have issues, plus yellow has epic amounts of heavy out back on soft df springs so that brings him a little lower than most. none the less, hes been through the experience personally so hes got a good grade on what to look for, where as i just picked a setup that i knew was gonna rub all the time anyway :rolling:

not to mention, dont you have hub spacers on the back yellow?

oh and Hip, be wary, once you drop the car 1-1.5" it will only be enough until you get used to it, then you will need to go lower, trust me, already been through 3 suspension setups before deciding to spend the money on getting coils so i can adjust to whatever i want lol

Lol. I was going to save for coilovers but with Vermont weather and the fact they don't use salt here and plows are epic failures, I'd get stuck. Ice build up turns roads up here into mountainous terrain. You'd swear you were offroad. So I figured the safest solution is to drop it 1.5 and save money.

Might get 8s with a 40 offset. It sounds like if I want great looking rims there's no easy rim to avoid rubbing an spacers though :/

No spacers for me tool...Tried to run them but there is no way unless I run some camber:)
