I've been on the forums for a little while now and have discovered that the first thing people are looking for here is usually inexpensive mods. The question, in so many words is, "What can I do to my car today so it's different than all the others still sitting on the lot?" So, with that in mind, and since the more expensive mods seem to be easier to find, I'm starting a list of the cheap mods for the tC2. My goal is just what the title says, 50 mods under $50. I don't know of that many, but I think if you add to the list, we can get there.

Few guidelines for this:
- A "mod" for this thread is anything changed from stock
- Please read over it so we don't duplicate inputs
- Please give a rough price range
- Item is still eligible for the list if some options are over $50, so long as at least one option is under $50
- Please list where you found the items or parts
* Most of these can be purchased from numerous locations. The manufacturer/retailer listed may or may not be the cheapest or best option for you. Retailers/manufacturers are listed for reference only and you are highly encouraged to do your own research before purchasing anything.

Sure. Stickers, chromies, de-badging... It all makes you're car unique. Besides, the sun visor stickers are one of my favorite mods. I hate those stupid yellow warning stickers. If you're dumb enough that you have to see the stickers everyday in order to remember to keep your baby out of the front seat, you shouldn't be driving! lol

unfortunately i think he only debadged the back. i think everyone is waiting for the front debadge because it seems pretty hard since it will leave a dent at the bottom.

I was going to mention Broadway mirror(by Napolex), I have a 270mm convex, should have gone with the 300mm. Price is ~$20 dependent on online retailer or eBay. I have a Gen. 1 tC btw.

Sorry, I was unclear about the inserts. Material for a DIY is around 20-30 depending on where you get your material. You'll also need some spray adhesive to get the material to stay and form to the contours.

Has anyone done the Ground Wire Kit from the xA Tech Page, first done by mikochu?

I plan to do one in about a week, all depends on if I'm able to get to the dealership tomorrow night to get my new tC2 :)

The cost was minimal, bought an 8g amp install kit with plenty of wire, some ring connectors from home depot, all said about $30 give or take... all this bought for my xB1, and damn it was easy.

There was some discussion on adding the extra grounding, but I don't know if anyone has ever actually done it.

Polyurethane Exhaust Mount Hangers - ~$40, got mine from Torque Solution, install was easy for two hangers, the other two was a bit difficult to install because if being able to get some leverage but it can be done, just have to get creative with the install. My muffler used to hang low(Agency Power Cat-back) but is now tucked back up more proper. Install done on 2009 tC.

Nope, haven't purchased the material yet since I cannot decide on the color. Doing green, but can't decide what variant of green. Originally thought to do a lime green faux suede, but don't want to overdo the green and not to mention, I want all accent pieces that I install to match somewhat.

Here's a vid of what I am referring to...

Great list, looks like a lot of the mods are able to be performed on the tC1 as well.

Question though, while the mod list is great, how come no links to DIY threads or write-ups on how to perform the suggested mods?

MightyP
04-20-2011, 04:18 PM
^ Some don't have DIYs, but mainly because I haven't taken the time to do it. :P The mods all come from the tC2 forums here and should be fairly easy to find with the search feature on Scionlife.

Customtc.com's interior vinyl kit $43 total with shipping to AR

Also, does anyone know where you can get a 2nd reverse light kit at now that Obnoxious is no longer in buisness? Got a flashing 3rd brake light kit in the mail, and it seems like a shame to not do this as well, while Im back there....

Me and my friend actually done this like a month ago when we had nothing to do, I didnt even bother mentioning it cuz it seemed not important enough to talk about

BTW most of my Light mods are WAY under $50 :)
