I had never really thought much about Scions (I'm more of a 4x4 truck guy) 'till a few weeks ago, That's when this sexy little thing caught my wife's eye. It took 3 salesmenm, the sales manager, AutoCheck and CarFax before I would believe them but once convinced what I was looking at was correct and true, how could I walk away........
2005 Scion xA Release 1.0
Absolute MINT condition.
841 miles on the ticker when we drove it off the lot Feb. 26th 2011. Currently she registers 1511 miles.
Take a peek 6 years into the past..........
How did that happen? They forget the car in inventory?

I've been pondering the same question since seeing a few different pic's of RS's. I actually wrote Scion the other day and I'm waiting on a response. I'll post as soon as I get the answer.

It had to be in a climate controled building the whole time. All the tires, wiper blades, interior panels and such show no signs of dry rot, heat/sun damage or neglect. Everything under the hood is original and also tippy top condition so it had to be driven, although not far, on a fairly regular schedule. The prior registrations were kept current and were all in Lakeside Az.

yeah i would definatly fight for that grille, grille alone goes for over 500$, if its anything like the RS Tc's its anywhere between 900-2000$
how much was the car?? did they charge you a brand new price, even though its an 05?? its a confusing situation lol
well are you going to tell us what u got it for or what lol. im sure it wasnt sticker and if it was u crazy
Believe it or not, I paid KBB.

Yeah, but if you wanted to (this summer), you could sell it and definitly make some $$ off what you paid for it (not that you would actually do that). !!
Nice score BTW! If you decide to keep it long term, please post updated pictures of any changes/modifications you do make.

Thanks. I think we may hang on to it and find something else for the wife as a daily driver. Not many chances like this come by in a lifetime if you know what I mean. I could see it rolling thru Barrett Jackson in 2025 with oh, say 5k miles ? :money:
We may do a few things like tires n wheels but I'll definitly keep the mods limited and keep the original pieces. I almost feel like we've been entrusted with a piece of history.......lol

had to be a coporate demo. IF the car is supposed to have a different grill, I find it interesting it's mathced to the car.

The RS1 did originally have the sport grille.

I heard back from Scion about the grill. They said ALL RS1's came with the sport grill. Regardless of where this grill came from, I'm now on the lookout for an original red sport grill, mint condition of course.

Right, only the RS1's came in red. Why would a standard grill come in red ? and it's definitly not a repaint.

It's not cheap, and it would need to be painted... but here it is.

Perhaps something happened with the original grille and they did a paint and swap with a stock grille.

With all this out in the open, the question is: are you gonna make it a daily, or are you gonna turn it into a garage queen?

Probably a little of both. It'll be a while (6-8 months) before I can afford to find another decent daily for the wife. Then there's the issue of telling her she can't drive the xA all the time, :lalala: Hmmmmm, any suggestions with that one ?

I heard back from Scion about the grill. Only speed grills were installed, anything else was after the factory. They were nice enough to give me the correct part # so all I had to do was stop by my local Toyota dealer and they gave me a price quote. Super good guy price of $379.00 and it comes painted.

I would strongly consider getting the correct factory grill for that collector's item while they are still available, but that's maybe just me.
Thing is, that car is rare to start with, and having in your hands such a perfect, low mileage unit, it would be nice to keep it as "original" as possible.

Definitly at the top of my "to do" list. And any mods will be simple bolt on's (tire's, wheels, etc) with me keeping all the original parts.
She's in good hands..... :relief:
