DouBLeJ16 03-14-2005, 09:04 AM K&N makes one, it's about $230-$260 shipped from various websites. great product. malina 03-14-2005, 04:02 PM Injen, it is louder and possibly a bit more powerful but not enough for me to really notice. sciondude410 03-14-2005, 04:31 PM I installed an Injen cold air on my brothers auto XA and it is deffinately louder and I did notice that at higher rpms it has a little more throttle response. I should be getting my Injen CAI for my XB soon so I will let you know how it is. Mike naztyTC 03-14-2005, 09:03 PM i have the k&n not much hp gain if not anything but it does get loud MysTiKchRis 03-14-2005, 10:31 PM Injen, it is louder and possibly a bit more powerful but not enough for me to really notice. Injen Cold Air Intakes Are in production for the Tc already? malina 03-14-2005, 10:40 PM They've been in production for awhile but are not available to the general public yet. http://www.myphotospace.com/upload/116/injen1.jpg http://www.myphotospace.com/upload/116/injen2.jpg PunkInDrublic 03-14-2005, 10:43 PM They've been in production for awhile but are not available to the general public yet. Wataf? explain. malina 03-14-2005, 10:44 PM I'm just special. WagenMaster 03-14-2005, 10:48 PM I drove their prototype auto tC with their cai and exhaust back in November. But it can't be purchased yet... How'd you get your hands on one? malina 03-14-2005, 10:50 PM I know people who know people who... teamkasnomas 03-14-2005, 10:59 PM We put the AEM cold air in our xB since it was the first one available in August '03 when we got our car. We had to wait a few weeks before it arrived, so we had plenty of time to compare before cold air and after. For my money, it was the best upgrade avaiable. Made a significant, noticeable difference in acceleration and response. I believe it was about $300, installed. rsx_freak79 03-15-2005, 02:54 AM a lil advice of what i've noticed in other forums. whenever a well known manufacturer is looking for a tc for a test fit on a product please volunteer your car. you will in most cases get the product for free once they are finished w/ your car and it also might help you out in getting picked next time they come around for another test fit. you will get the product months before it even comes out and makes you feel special. :) KYBoy 03-15-2005, 05:06 AM I know people who know people who... You are very Lucky I herd that they failed emissions testing do you think you could ask your “contacts” when its going to available please? f1nch 03-15-2005, 05:12 AM just ordered k&N... i'll let you guys know how it is when i get it...intake alone might not make much of a difference but CAI and exhaust to expell that extra incomming air prob does...especially according to a couple dynos that have been around here lately CRxB 03-15-2005, 07:57 AM http://www.myphotospace.com/upload/116/injen2.jpg cool....I like the bracket holding the intake too...wonder if you lose low end torque? DouBLeJ16 03-15-2005, 08:26 AM that looks almost exactly like the K&N, i'm sure it sounds pretty much the same. does it gain more then 6whp? I doubt it. MysTiKchRis 03-15-2005, 05:15 PM I have the TRD drop in air filter and I doesn’t seem to do anything at all. It just makes the engine sound a tid bit cooler “but not vary noticeable”. think it has any HP gains? t6c9 03-15-2005, 05:29 PM my WR secret weapon gets here any minute.... damn UPS guy is taking FOREVER!! i've been up since like 9 waiting on it.... i can't wait no longer :tap: :nails: i'll post pics in the post i started in the mid atlantic area section.... leonDB 03-15-2005, 05:38 PM my WR secret weapon gets here any minute.... damn UPS guy is taking FOREVER!! i've been up since like 9 waiting on it.... i can't wait no longer :tap: :nails: i'll post pics in the post i started in the mid atlantic area section.... Hows it sound? Feel any difference in HP? t6c9 03-16-2005, 04:15 AM it sounds awesome! at higher rpms when you let off the gas it sounds like a turned down blow off... only way i can hear it though is if i'm standin infront of the car cuz my straight pipe kinda takes over the sound war between the two...i can tell a difference accelereation wise and once it starts to kick in around 1500-2000.... it's worth it! Matt687 03-16-2005, 04:35 AM you straight piped it too, good job man, so did I Sharapov 03-16-2005, 04:40 AM Wouldnt water get in that if youre behind a truck in the rain or something? rsx_freak79 03-16-2005, 04:50 AM Wouldnt water get in that if youre behind a truck in the rain or something? NO naztyTC 03-16-2005, 03:34 PM looks good but how do you call that a cold air set up, it sucks in the nice hot engine heat just my opion leonDB 03-16-2005, 04:06 PM looks good but how do you call that a cold air set up, it sucks in the nice hot engine heat just my opion That's a short ram setup, not a CAI. And there was dyno's done that shows an increase in hp with this setup from 6-12 hp... hot or not, that's even with the CAI's that are out now. it sounds awesome! at higher rpms when you let off the gas it sounds like a turned down blow off... only way i can hear it though is if i'm standin infront of the car cuz my straight pipe kinda takes over the sound war between the two...i can tell a difference accelereation wise and once it starts to kick in around 1500-2000.... it's worth it! Good job! Looks good man! The Secret Weapon didn't come with a heat shield? That's my next mod after the drop. t6c9 03-16-2005, 04:47 PM yeah my straight pipe went on the first week i had the car... back in june/july... i love it DouBLeJ16 03-17-2005, 07:10 AM the dyno for the K&N CAI was 6whp, the dyno for the WR short ram intake was 6whp also (with less torque). the WR short ram intake did NOT dyno 12hp or anything over 6. DouBLeJ16 03-17-2005, 07:11 AM yeah my straight pipe went on the first week i had the car... back in june/july... i love it wtf does this have to do with an intake? t6c9 03-17-2005, 03:56 PM you straight piped it too, good job man, so did I answer your question?? :loser: jblaze4lif 03-18-2005, 11:24 AM i have the weapon r intake too. I let it warm up for 15 minutes after putting it on and hooking the battery up but it still took a few minutes of driving before the computer really recognized it and compensated. I ended up taking it off becuase i felt like i kept beating the snots out of m car hehe a little too loud for me i duno . mr929dblR 03-18-2005, 05:26 PM i have the weapon r intake too. It sounds crazy when you really get on the gas. And it feels as though the car has a bit more mid range torque. Either way I like it. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-2/954275/shonnstcengine.jpg rsx_freak79 03-26-2005, 01:55 AM looks good. ^^^ how long did the install take? sciondude410 03-28-2005, 12:43 PM well I just got my INJEN CAI installed about a week ago and I love it. Well as far as hp goes not much to feel but I do notice that it does have a little more pep on the highways and at a higher rpm. But the sound is awesome. There is a nice deep sound that gets deeper again at higher rpms. I have installed two injen cai's so far one on my brothers xA and on my xB and the xB install was much easier. Took aprox. 1.5 hours to do it right and take my time to remove the fender well cover and take off my tire. But for the most part I am happy with my intake so far. Mike bahamut_zero 03-29-2005, 03:24 PM does anyone have any info on when the AEM CAI for the tC is set to come out? |
