what i did on mine(2010 scion tc) was i removed the sun visors. then there should be the original holes on the roof of the car where the visors originally were screwed into. i just used the original screws to bolt the hangers that the wink mirrors came with. and blam, there you go.

The visors on the second gen xb are not screwed on it is more of a pressure fitting type thingy. All you have to do is get a real small flat screw driver and take the little cover off the they should come out and as far as the thing that holds the visor up that thing twists about 45 degrees and pulls out.

its not going to work like that. You need to get the windshield mounting kit.

Where can I get the windshield mounting kit? I'm painting my wink mirror and am wondering how it's going in.

Just to show how it's coming along

You should be able to get them at Pep Boys, but here they are at Amazon if you can't find them locally:

http://www.amazon.com/Wink-5-Panel-M...1524537&sr=1-2

You need to use 2 of them, and spread them out about 18" apart. If you check out the reviews, these mounts don't seem very strong.

You don't pick where to mount them, those mouts screw into the back of the wink mirror at 2 locations where there are nuts formed into the plastic.

I just bought 2 windshield mounts today and so far I am not impressed. Had to re-glue them twice, going to give it 48 hours this time before trying to install the mirror. Make sure you use a coarse sand paper or a grinder to rough up the surface on the plastic mounts before trying to glue them to the glass. Good luck, I think I will be taking my mirror and mounts back as I don't want to drill into the headliner and I don't think these mounts are going to adhere to the glass of the windshield...

I didn't realize that they pre-determined it, which you would think means they engineered it to work properly... (not)

So it sounds like the windshield mounts fall into the POS bin.

Big FAIL on the manufacturer.

Still not impressed with the mounts, but they did stick to the windshield and are holding the mirror up now. I love the extra visibility the mirror provides, I will post back in a few days about the adjust-ability of the mirror and if it actually stays put.

To my surprise the mounts are holding strong, there is a slight vibration in the mirror but its tolerable.
