Default what do you do for a living and why a scion?

I figured I'd share a little bit about myself and Im also curious if there is such a "Scion" type of driver.

I work as an Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse. I deal with blood and guts and the rest of the spectrum. I live in queens but work in the Bronx. Work three 12 hr days and I'm off for 4. I always thought scion was more geard toward the Young crowd until a saw a few "older people" driving theirs. I must admit all my life I was into the honda scene and still own an 08 civic and an 08 Crv. But when I took my Tc for a drive I gotta say that for a small car I was impressed with the interior, panoramic roof, premium sound etc. Althought a little cramped it is confortable enough (I'm 6 1' and 215 lbs)

Before, I worked in body shop as prep guy (wetsander/detailer) for newly painted cars. I opened up my own detailing spot for high end cars. But in this economy people are not spending too much money into detailing. So now I so it on the side.......

What about you?

Retail Manager, I am the store manager of a ski and snowboard shop. Work 6-7 days a week from August-March and then get all summer off which works awesome for car shows. Always been a gear head, have owned an SRT-4 and an Evo8. Loved both cars, but both were maintenance ******.

The scion is just a fun little car to mod and drive around, and it's reliable! I'm stoked on it, i mean, i have put like $3,500 into parts into it since i bought it in January!!

IM am in the US Army Infantry. I have been in for almost 6 years. I am currently finishing my second deployment to Afghanistan.

The reason i bought my tC was i was coming off my first deployment and was trying to get an 05 civic Si. Well the dealership couldnt get me financed but they could get me financed on a new car well i browsed their selection and thats when i found my 08 tC. I love my car and im currently in the process of boosting it.

Ima detailer for a small dealership and also detail on the side.

I wasn't in the market for a scion. My first car was a 97 saturn( which I hated to drive) and my second car was a 96 jetta. I woulda kept the jetta but I dumped double what I payed for to keep it running. So I got a $25k approved loan so I coulda had pretty much whatever. I narrowed cars down to the Si and the Rx8. But then I saw the Tc Rs2 and had to have it.lol

I'm a college student, a USMC 0311 infantry rifleman in the reserves, and a waiter at a gourmet restaurant. I want to be an officer in USMC recon, so next year I'm going to recon school (if I don't get deployed) and the next summer to OCS.

I chose a tc really cause my old beater 95 corolla blew up and I found the tc for a deal. I wasn't into cars much then but this car and this website changed that. It's a good daily, gets me to work and school and it'll last, but I am saving for something fun. I wanna do an rb25(or 26) swap on a 240sx. So my tc will be my daily, 240 will be my fun car.

Like Draxxus I, too, am in the Army - going on 5 years now. I'm a Track Vehicle Mechanic, though, stationed in Germany.

I also bought my '06 after my first deployment to Iraq.

Just now getting around to doing fun things to it.

Edit: Forgot!! I got my tC because I have been wanting one since I heard of it back in '04 for the '05 launch. I love this car so much

@ 08TCny - That's cool that you're an RN man. I know this isn't what I do for a living, but I'm in school getting my BSN. Just passed my pathophysiology class, and moving onto fundamentals and clinicals. Looking forward to it too. Any tips on modding and/or nursing is great appreciated ;p

USAF SSgt here.

I bought a Scion because that's what Toyota labelled it's compact 2 door sport coupe. The market for compact/midsize 2-doors with functional back seats is somewhat limited these days.

The Civic is nice enough, but the legroom is limited these days (had a '01 Civic coupe a while back). The Accord and Altima were a bit more than I wanted to spend, as I'd like to pay it off early with my next reenlistment bonus.

A $1k military rebate helped seal the deal for me, as well as the low interest rates these says (4.39 / 72)

Nuclear engineer with MBA degree.

I got it back in 04-05 because my friend told me to get it. I saw that no one else had a Scion tC so I got it and everyone wanted to see it as it never existed before. Now they are everywhere. I'm approaching 100,000 miles and I will keep it forever because I think it will be a classic someday.

I am quite busy: I am a fulltime student at Lemoyne College in Syracuse NY. I am going for my bachelors in Marketing.
I also sell for The Microsoft Store Online full time.
I am the Project Manager of a design company (check out www.trkdesigns.com ).
Finally I am a gym rat (I go 4-5x a week).

I will be buying my tC within the next 2 weeks (BSP 5 speed). I like the way they look and seem very reliable. I have a 1993 del Sol currently that I have modded and am look forward to starting with a new canvas. I love Hondas and was looking at a Civic Si but for the price the tC seemed very attractive. Also I like unique cars and am very intrigued by the panoramic roof.

PS If anyone needs design work done let me know!

My sister goes to Lemoyne here in Syracuse, I wonder if you know eachother ;) I Live in Cicero and work in Camillus doing software support. I basically write Microsoft SQL all day. Boring but pays decent.

Oops forgot to say why I bought a Scion. Well this is my second Scion. There really isn't much else to choose from in the sub 20k range for a 2door aesthetically pleasing/reliable car.

I was there from 2006-2008, this is my 2nd semester back, what is her name?
SQL coding does pay pretty decent, where/who do you work for? It is great to know there is someone close by!
