I got hyper white, so i can drive black with fewer distractions :come: Anyway, i'll be setting Scott Brown up with a word form the SE meets and events. If you don't know Scott, hes the one in charge. I spoke on the phone earlier with him, great guy. If your riding his bulbs, get the word out
Scion05BOPxB 03-15-2005, 05:40 AM Wow. I really like the looks of the yellow. Can't wait to see the other colors so I can decide which ones to order.

WagenMaster 03-15-2005, 05:22 PM I got my Hyper White bulbs in yesterday. Thank you Scott!
I got a set of H4s for the headlights and 9006s for my JDM foglights. They should brighten up the roadways quite a bit, and look good doing it.
I'll be installing them this week and will post pics asap.

PandaIst 03-15-2005, 06:44 PM I got my set yesterday. I chose the 9006 fog light bulbs in jdm yellow. It's installed and they look really nice. I'll take pics when i get the chance. Thanks Luminics bulbs!
maxsin 03-16-2005, 04:35 AM Are these yellow bulbs street legal in California?
Nevermind, searched the site and found my answer... YES!
huricansplyr2 03-16-2005, 07:50 AM see guys i dunno if i want to go with the ulitra violet for looks or the hyper white...any input?
LuminicsBulbs 03-16-2005, 03:32 PM The most popular bulbs so far with Scion owners are the
Ultra Violet bulbs they are white with a purple tint some customers compare them to a HID "look"

ScionDad 03-16-2005, 04:02 PM One side is Luminics Ultra Violet and the other is SIlverstar....

SCIONbrouillard 03-16-2005, 07:02 PM I'm interested in getting some. But I'd like to see Hyper White before I can be set on a decision.

They are good bulbs and everything, but I sure wish you listed the color temperature of the bulbs. That's a good way to get a feel for what color they really put out. Here in old fashion Pennsylvania, you have to really watch, or the cops are all over you.
I'd love to have the hyper whites, but with the blue tint to the bulbs, they look like they might have a color temp near 4500k to maybe 5000k ?? That's way too blue for around here. Any input would be nice, Luminics.
TheIcon 03-17-2005, 11:45 AM I just got mine and will install them this weekend and take pics and write some words. Thank you. As far as the question above I believe they are 4500k if i remember correctly. I may be wrong.
ctnewsguy 03-17-2005, 04:49 PM Just ordered the yellow ones for my yellow 2.0 which should be here in April. Yellow on yellow, that should be FUN!
Can someone enlighten me here?
First, what is "JDM" about yellow bulbs? I think the term "JDM" is used very loosely in the ricer community. JDM means Japanese Domestic Market--- meaning something which is found on a vehicle stock or as an option in JAPAN. It shouldn't apply to every fruity colored rice mod on the planet.
A column shifter on your automatic xB--- that's JDM
bB emblems are JDM if they are genuine Toyota pieces and put in the correct places.
Fake HID blue halogen lights = NOT JDM
So as far as the yellow lights go, I can't imagine the improve visibilty, so what are they for? Looks? Is it just sort of to be different like the purple and blue headlights people get because they can't afford genuine HID?
or...do you live in a really, really foggy area or something?
huricansplyr2 03-17-2005, 07:30 PM If you want to go out and put down a couple of bills to have some HID go ahead but some of us have other stuff that we have to pay for. The Purple and blue do increase
visibilty over the stock blubs. I do not like the yelloe lights personaly but some people do and that is there thing. People just need to mind there own business not to be rude or anything. Don't hate just becusae they have a different style then yours
DarkManX 03-17-2005, 08:05 PM Rion made his point in kind of a dickhead way, but he does have a point. JDM is used a little too loosley. Yellow blbs are not JDM, they are just yelllow bulbs. It seems like companies and people into car mods call everything JDM, when it really isn't. You want to be JDM, import a bB and drive your car from what we consider the passanger seat.... that's JDM.
jocdoc 03-17-2005, 10:00 PM just got my jdm yellows. luminics says their most popular is the jdm yellow. i think thats the best color for my blue o pee. any how, i can't wait to add them to my registry. but my most proud accomplishment to be added is obviously the keychain mini-flashlight thingy,
Davestoaster 03-18-2005, 01:21 AM Rion made his point in kind of a dickhead way, but he does have a point. JDM is used a little too loosley. Yellow blbs are not JDM, they are just yelllow bulbs. I have to disagree. I think he got his point across just right. And he is correct. The term is well over-used. But the yellow color bulbs do make things stand out on a foggy night a little better. That includes a rainy night too.
BUT, a 55 watt bulb is a 55 watt bulb. I don't care if it's a 3000k yellow, or a 6000k purple, the only way to make it brighter is watts. So, some of these bulb sites are kind of misleading. They say their 55/60 watt bulbs are like a 100/130 watt bulb. How can they be LIKE it?? It's like saying a xB with 18" wheels is like a Corvette with 18" wheels. There's no subsitute for cubes, and there's no substitue for watts.
I was a bit of a dickhead, but I'm right.
Blue, purple, green or whatever other color headlights aren't going to improve visibility. The lens itself might though. If blue halogen lights were such a breakthough then don't you think they would be OEM?
Maybe it's just me, but whenever I see someone with blue or purple headlights, I just think they are a poseur who thinks their ghetto blue lights are fooling people into thinking its a more expensive car with HIDs or something.
Kind of like buying those chromed wheel covers at AutoZone because you can't afford rims.
Just me though, to each their own.
joshtravis 03-19-2005, 05:15 AM Just me though, to each their own.
First impressions are everything. When people see your posts, they probably think your a jerk.
I'd rather be a poser with $60 autozone wheel covers.
sexyscionlover 03-19-2005, 05:39 AM Yea its all about personal preference. Id rather have my free Luminics bulbs than stock :blah: Infact I'm impressed with them and I think they throw off a cool look too without screaming out "Hey I love APC".
I have graphics. Some like them, some dont. Hell I dont even know if I do.
I'm not down for naming a Scion club after a sexual orgy group (Priory of Sion) :P, but some are.
I'm just playin around Rion. All in good nature. Like I said though, I'd rather have these Luminics lights that have a cool look, IMO have better visibility, and keep my wallet full 8)

Free is good. I guess I can't fault you for that.
At least you didn't pay for them and then pull them out a month later and buy purple ones for another $300.
Nothing wrong with free.
I don't agree about them not saying "I love APC" but I am more conservative than most when it comes to mods. I focus only on what improves handling or performance. You can't see any of my mods because they are there to impress me and no one else.
Sorry if I ____ed anyone off, like I said I can be a jerk when trying to get a point across. It's a personality flaw. I'm much less of an a**hole in person though, I promise.
manejounxa 03-21-2005, 03:59 PM I want to thank luminicsbulbs.com for giving me a set of UV bulbs.
I have received and installed this bulbs on my xA and boy do they make a difference
at first I wasn't to thrill since they seemed that they where a little dim for when I
though where going to be brighter but then I realised that I wasn't installing a HID lighting kit so compared to the stock they are MUCH BRIGHTER and better looking(no yellowish look as to the stock bulbs)I have gotten great compliments via family, friends and yes even strangers at the supermarket asked what bulbs I had after they had asked me tons of question about the scion.so let me finish my review by saying this is a great bulb for anyone that is looking to switch their stock bulb for an aftermarket bulb.once again Thank You Luminicsbulbs...................JUAN
Here are my pictures.Enjoy them as much as I am enjoying them...

grzydj 04-04-2005, 12:54 PM A pure white light is better for your night vision than a yellow light ever will be. It sounds like this manufacturer overcompensated for the lower output of a yellow bulb by making it too bright. The same thing goes for blue or purple lights.
If you don't upgrade your wiring to your light assembly, these expensive bulbs you bought are probably wont come close to reaching their maximum lighting potential.
Yellow bulbs are terrible for every day night driving use. Yellow bulbs work well for fog lights, where a higher contrast bulb helps you see though fog.
Read up here.
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/lights/light_color/light_color.html
I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but some of you people don't know ANYTHING about lighting, and are wasting a lot of money, and potentially using hazardous and or illegal bulbs that aren't doing you any good.
If your vision is that bad get a pair of glasses with anti reflective coating on them. Sylvania Xtravsion bulbs should be more than adequate. If you really require that much lighting at night, perhaps you should see a retinal specialist, or stop driving at night.
I_dont_know 04-13-2005, 06:25 PM What about those 24 hour grand prix cars or La mans cars? most of them i see run with the yellow lights, Porche, Team Oreca when they were doin it in the Vipers, the BMW's. if it wasnt proven to give better visiblity, wouldnt they run with stock ones?
grzydj 04-13-2005, 06:37 PM What about those 24 hour grand prix cars or La mans cars? most of them i see run with the yellow lights, Porche, Team Oreca when they were doin it in the Vipers, the BMW's. if it wasnt proven to give better visiblity, wouldnt they run with stock ones?
Who ever said they did it for better visibility? Besides, xB's certainly aren't race cars, but I'd love to see one in a road course race.
Different teams often run different colored lights at 24 hour races so they can differentiate each other at night. This is especially helpful at night, when a car is passing you.
Look to rally cars for proper lighting for low light situations. They all use white lights at night. ;)
I could see if some of you needed auxiliary lighting if you lived in a very rural area, or did some kind of off-road driving, but for driving around well lit cities with HID conversion kits? It doesn't even begin to make sense.
Have your vision checked if it's that difficult to see at night.
I_dont_know 04-13-2005, 06:51 PM [quote="grzydj Who ever said they did it for better visibility? [/quote]
True. but, I woudnt drive a car on those courses traveling at the speeds they do, and with lights that only help to differentiate the cars. If it hinders visiblity, i guarantee they wouldnt do it. So i guess its really a matter of taste. And the night driving, yeah, isnt there something people call "night blindness"?
grzydj 04-13-2005, 07:01 PM [quote="grzydj Who ever said they did it for better visibility?

Usually people who suffer from night blindness are forbidden to drive at night. I don't know what the correlation is between xB drivers and night blindness, but there is an awfully high rate of it for some reason. :P
Yellow light isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's great for high contrast situations, like fog instance, but fares poorly for regular night driving, as doe blue and purple hues of light.
You can also combat night blindness with high doses of beta-carotene. Eat your carrots! It's safer and cheaper than most of these illegal conversion kits.

xA_RS_ChickLA 04-27-2005, 03:20 PM As soon as I get back to LA from Spring Break my new Luminics Hyper white bulbs will be installed into my 05 xA RS 1.0
Did someone actually refer to these bulbs as expensive??? $35 a pair at retail price and only $20 to the SL family??? Who is this guy kidding thinking these are expensive? I have seen them in an xB next to an xB with Silverstars the so called supreme in import light bulbs and the guys from luminics blew the silverstars out of the water....

killermethod 06-02-2005, 11:56 AM I had them installed about 3 months ago in the yellow and already one has burnt out but it does make the car look better. But it won't stop me from ordering again. My only problem is that i was in Canada at the time and nobody carried them .So i had to go with silverstar

eggie 06-02-2005, 06:08 PM Wouldn't be easy enough to put an OEM light in and do show the differences beta photo to between the two? No the color, obviously, but the brightness and pattern.
That would end this what is better conversation.
