Default straight pipe?

I have the magnaflow cat-back on my 09 xB. Its well built exhaust system and high quality , but its way too quiet. Sounds rather whimpy.

Was thinking of taking out the muffler on that cat-back and running a straight pipe while leaving the scuba tank in.

Think that will give me a little bit more sound without being obnoxious?

Think it would sound similar to the borla single since it has no muffler.

What do you think?

so you'll be running the stock header with the stock resonator and a stright pipe axle back correct? if so then yes it would sound like the borla which i have heard and its not too loud or obnoxious

All the Borla uses are pipes and tips. From the videos I've seen on the youtube, it doesn't seem too bad. The TRD knockoff from eBay is a pretty alright setup. I've installed 2 within the last month. The CXR 3" is a decent exhaust, but pretty darned loud. It doesn't sound bad, just loud.

As heck.

Yes would be using the stock header, and keeping the resonator in place, but just running a straight pipe in place of the muffler on the magnaflow cat-back

Anyone from the socal area know a muffler shop that does mandrel bends for an affordable price? I'm looking to get a straight pipe axle back exhaust like the original poster

if you want to know what it would sound like just remove all the piping after the scuba tank and drive around a bit. i did this for a few days before i bought the strup cat back. sounds the same. still pretty quite but sounds nice up top.
