Hey guys I was thinking would you guys want to buy upgraded bolt kits for your xB's? I own a industrial/performance retail store so tracking down all the right fasteners is not a big deal I just want to make sure its worth the time.

I just hate the black grade3 bolts that come stock so I was thinking of using grade 911 stainless taper heads with anodized finishing washers. Similar to this.

Let me know what you think! if theres enough good feedback I'll have these kits put together right away.

I've been thinking about getting the Gallery Fresh ones, but if I can get a deal with something different I'll go that route.

i'm lost. what would these be for? just a replacement for the dull black bolts?

Pasquale

Im sourcing the washers right now. the bolts and screws we have in stock.

I need to go pull a bunch of fasteners off my xb so I can put a kit together and figure out a price for the kit.

What color washers do you have? And which bolts do they replace?

would be a very cool mod if the price was right. keep us posted.

Pasquale

Right now I only have polished aluminum but theres no reason why I couldnt get those anodized and engraved. There would be a price difference though from polished and anodized.

I could change any bolt I wanted as long as its made in a taper head bolt or screw. I can even get rid of the nasty acorn nuts in the valve cover.

What I can do also is find make a partial kit and a full on kit. As long as I can keep my pricing down I will be able to sell these at a very comparable if not better price then competitors

uhhh where doe these go?

Pasquale
04-20-2011, 10:16 PM
These bolts would replace all the bolts you can see in your engine bay. They could potentially be used to change any bolt screw or nut on your car as long as you know what kind of hardware you need.

I dont know if thats possible lol. I would have to get aluminum bolts Which I wouldnt risk selling them to any of you guys. I worry about my customers safety. I make steel braided brake lines for cars and I go above and beyond to make sure they're the best and safest product out there and that same business practice will cross over to these bolt kits also.

I wont sell you something I wouldnt put on my own car.

I have some of the ones posted in the first post. 28 to be exact. Pretty much replaced almost every 10mm bolt under my hood. Just wish I could do something with the ones holding the valve cover on now.

Great way to dress up the engine bay.

Those bolts that the acorn nuts screw on just unscrew from the valve cover, and replace with a 10mm bolt. Look at my pics above, I changed mine out.

kms_tuning
04-23-2011, 08:46 PM
Xbbox not to be dense but the bolts that the nuts go on unscrew?

xseveredveganx
04-23-2011, 10:17 PM
That they do. They thread into the valve cover.

xbbox
04-23-2011, 11:24 PM
Yeah, that ^^^

Take one of the 10mm nuts off from anywhere's under the hood and screw it on the bolt. Then screw the acorn nut on top of it, tighten them together, then start unscrewing. It'll come right out.

jrincon17
04-25-2011, 03:38 PM
Its actually a 6mm thread 10 mm head

hey you got any special hoses for the xb2 ?

Pasquale
04-27-2011, 10:45 PM
I make DOT approved steel braided brake lines

I made these for Greg Purple fittings and clear coated lines.

All my lines are DOT approved and pressure tested far beyond what your car will ever push them too. I can do them in all kinds of custom colors too.

Pas question. what are those line things? i dont see anything in my engine bay that matches that look. and if yours are like that xbbox posted. could it be the blue round part and black washer? so the main color is blue with a black accent?

Pasquale
04-28-2011, 12:48 AM
Sorry I forgot to post my rear air brackets too.

Those are brake lines. I would be able to do blue washers and black 911 bolts if you wonted.

jrincon17
04-28-2011, 05:36 PM
its like bleeding the brakes

Pasquale
04-28-2011, 07:05 PM
I did mine myself you just need a good set of brake line wrenches and soebody to press down the brake pedal for you when you bleed the lines.

My lines get rid of that mooshy feeling that the stock lines cuase. The difference is rubber lines will expand which means you lose pressure and you will never have consistant stopping power. My lines dont expand so you have a firm brake peddle feel and more even stopping power.

DJ_FroZone
04-28-2011, 11:46 PM

The inserts are anodized and the coating is some what translucent.

THOSE RED LOOK HAWT

xseveredveganx
05-09-2011, 05:21 PM
Too bad you'll never see them. Lol! Unless you show with a wheel or two off.

Greg S
05-09-2011, 05:30 PM
Depending on your wheel design you can just see part of them at the calipers. I can with mine.:)

jrincon17
05-09-2011, 05:43 PM
Just a peek is all you need

Pasquale
05-09-2011, 09:15 PM
If you have an open faced wheel you can see them pretty well more so on the rear. Greg's lines are by far my favorites lol! I think im going to make a set for my car. I love the purple and the gold inserts.

xbbox
05-09-2011, 10:43 PM
Any pics of them on the car? And how close is the gold to my RS5?

Pasquale
05-09-2011, 11:48 PM
Its pretty close IMO. It has that brown tinge to it that Gold Rush does.

Some black lines with gold ends would look awesome!

Let me check to see if I have pictures of them on my car.

I really like the idea of a bolt kit, but I'm a little afraid of the installation. I would need good instructions to feel confident enough to go ahead with this project. I imagine myself leaning over the engine bay saying something like, "I wonder where the other 23 are supposed to go?"

Just an FYI to everyone, these bolt kits are easy to put together yourself. There's many companies that sell these, including but not limited to: gallery fresh, dress up bolts, and devsport.

Not trying to step on Pasquale's toes, just trying to help people on their way.

I think Gallery Fresh and Dress Up Bolts do. If they don't, get a metric ruler and go out to your car and do some measuring. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you piece together a kit.
