I had '99 corola and it had automatic light!
This is 12 years younger and missing that function! Anyone know of simple solutions?

i have auto head lights in my tc1 so i don't understand why they would take them out. have you tried leaving them in the on position then turning off the key and opening the door, they should turn off if they use the same system.

Wow never thought of that! But I care more about them being turned on. So they can be on during the day as well

Ya i mean not many options. Frankly I think it was a wise choice.. well.. for us who have HID's.. no need to worry about removing the DRLs.. :D

That looks like an auto-on unit/function, not a DRL...

that was my question: how to make the headlight switching automatic or keep em on all the time. I always forget to turn on the lights now so that was the issue.

That looks like what my wife had on her old Equinox. When there is not enough daylight, the lights turn on and if you have your wipers on, the lights are on to cover driving with lights on in the rain.

I heard the Hi beams won't work in certain cars. Does the hi beam function still work after installing this in your scion?

I decided not to use it because it only has 2 channels.

We need 3 because we need:

1. Headlights On
2. Rear Lights/Licence Plate
3. The interior lights to Dim the dash and light up the knobs

The car place I go to were still gonna make it work but I asked if they just could somehow make all lights be on all the time so they connected the the headlights to the ignition through a relay and a diode!

So you want DRL's like the Canadian models? Shouldn't be that hard to convert.
