I am wanting to buy a flipdown monitor for my XB and would like to try the install myself. Are you getting the power for this from the overhead light or somewhwere else? Kind of nervous about cutting up a new car, so want install to be as painless as possible!

 

I have always ran a power wire to the ignition harness. the only time I tap into the dome light wire is if the flip down has a dome light built in and needs power for it.
the biggest thing is take your time and read the directions. having a friend to help wouldn't be a bad idea also.

 

it would require more effort... but I would run a power cable to the unit from a separate power source, instead of the dome light.
