I'm looking at a set of rims and tires and want to know if anyone sees a problem with this package? A couple of people have said that you don't want to go bigger than a +42????

Rims are 18" X 7.5"
Tires are 215/35/18

Any comments would be appreciated on the fitment of this setup for my xB. Thanks...............Don :nails:

I am at 42mm offset and it is really close to the rear frame. I cannot fit my pinky finger between the tire/rim and rear car frame. A member pointed me to this site for a rear 10mm fix...

My setup, Nakayama 6-speed 17in rims 42mm offset with 215/45/17 Yoko tires.

One ton garage makes excellent products. I love the rear spacer shims.

You will definetely need spacers in the back if you dont want the inside of your rim to touch the rear frame. There is a bolt in the rear frame that will scratch your rim ( I know this because it happened to me)

is there anything wrong with an 40 off set? will it cause a problem with handeling i.e. 17'' rims with some 205/40/17 tires will this impose a problem?

40 will work fine, Go with a 215/40 instead.
You will probally want rear shims to pull them out a bit to get a wider stance and look.

how much will the shims cost?

I have the exact setup you're talking about. That's a 45mm offset rim on a 215/35/18. Just some spacers in the rear and you're set.[/img]

The rear spacer shims at www.onetongarage.com are $65 including shipping. A great product, easy to install and doesn't mess with your wheel studs like regular wheel spacers.

i had 18x7.5 with a 45mm offset and 215/40/18 tires on trd springs and trd struts and shocks. i never had any rubbing issues

unfortunately in the wheel industry there are not the best standards, so if one brands "45" offset will work adn why others wont. Spacers will work and they are cheap. Good luck
