View Full Version : Thinking about sticking with 15", please send pictures!
xBino 03-17-2005, 06:03 PM I don't want to change the feel of my ride too much, so I'd like to stick with 15's and Tein springs for a sublte drop. Anyone here got 15" rims (NOT stock) they have pictures of mounted on their xB? I'd like to see how big the wheel well gap is and what it looks like overall with smaller 15" wheels.
Thanks!

THOSE are some nice rims! How much (ball park)?
Anyway, I have aftermarket 15 rims on my Box. Click on the link in my sig to see them. They are not as good as ^^ but are alright.
Better then the steelies.
oni424 03-19-2005, 04:04 AM ive got 15 inch rims with trd springs and am very happy with the look. it really closed the wheel gap up nicely. I wasnt upset with the wheel gap without the springs. there is nothing written that says you must have big rims. I drive thru the city alot, DC, and the lowering springs with the bigger wheels would have killed the ride quality.
Brookforest_xB 03-19-2005, 04:33 AM I also have 15 inch aftermarket rims and I am very happy with the look. In the future after I replentish my "play money" I do intend to install some TRD or similar to lower the car about 1 1/2". Since I drive in the city daily, and always seem to find every pothole, I cannot justify running on "rubber bands" tires.

EastTNScionxB 03-19-2005, 05:38 AM I have the EM-7 Spoke rims that you can get directly from SCION. They are for sale too! See my profile for pics! Thanks and good luck!
Tomas 03-19-2005, 06:07 AM Just an off thought... the bB runs stock on 185/65R15 tires, which IIRC give a 3 to 4 percent increase in speed for the same speedometer reading.
Since the USA speedo reads 3 to 4 percent faster than the xB is actually going, it just MIGHT be because they spec'd the 185/60 instead of 185/65 in the US...I dunno.
In any case I'm strongly considering going with the 185/65R15 size on aftermarket 15 inch alloys when the time comes.
That should fill the wheelwell a bit better than the 60's do, and quite likely improve the pothole and tar strip ride a bit.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I thought maybe this sort of went along with it...
(This is the wheels I'm strongly considering - heck, they're even cheap. :) : http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/CallJsp?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=D5001S&sizeIndex=0&wheelIndex=19&autoMake=Scion&autoModel=xB&autoYear=2005&autoModClar=&showRear=no&email=Y

You can always switch to 205/55R15... they make a lot of tires in that size.

Those are Helo Ax 15x7s. I'm not sure if they're still available but I paid less than $700 at America's Tire Co. including tax and remounting the stock tires. Very nicely chromed too.
I see you went for the ultralight look :-) Nice look and I'm sure they ride very well. The 15x7 Axis Maglites also seem to be popular.
StackTrayce 03-20-2005, 07:36 AM There's gotta be more pictures of xBs on 15s out there... anyone know who else is running this and has pics? I'd like to see the 15" axis mag lites on an xb...
Maicca 03-20-2005, 02:37 PM I plan on running 15x6.5 or 15x7s..............with some 205/50/15 tires. Nice selection there!
ugly_duck 03-21-2005, 03:56 AM i would go 17" minimum but hey thats me. Show me a great looking 15" and i might change my mind.

maxsin 03-23-2005, 06:51 AM That is pretty sick... nice i mean. Definitly one of the nicest xb/bb i have seen.

Thos are the exact wheels that I want!! 15x8 all around? Any rubbing or modifications needed? I wondered just *how* wide I could go with those rims....
What size tire are you running?
Look premier!!
Selling them soon.............oh, I will have to forum stalk you now!!!111
2tone_xB 03-23-2005, 10:16 PM bBOXD, wow.
i still have a lot of thought towards what type of rims/size.
still loving that 15-16"/JDM look.
xBino 03-23-2005, 11:13 PM Man, its settled... cruising on 15's can look hot!
Thanks for all the input and suggestions. Just got some Tech-H's to install and I'll start saving up for some wheels.
I'm tempted to dip into the house fund...
msnlnx 03-24-2005, 12:18 AM I have 15"s but went with a p195/60 tire. I drive around 200 miles a day and couldn't stand the ride on the 18"s and 19"s. Pic on profile.[/img]
bBOXD 03-24-2005, 01:58 AM Hey thanks for all the compliments guys!!! You guys are awesome!
I am running Dunlop FM901 195-55-15 all around.
Actually, these might be for sale very soon. Please email me for information. Thanks again guys.
bBOXD 03-24-2005, 02:00 AM When those pics were taken those were 195/50-15's. The 55 series tire fills out the wheel wells a lot better.
To run these wheels you will have to roll your fenders but thats about it. They sit pretty flush to the fenders.
2tone_xB 03-24-2005, 05:36 PM Damn, the buyer will be lucky.
That's why I gotta keep my car looking clean, no $ for rims period.
Still gonna go with the yellow/gold theme, especially when you have the bBist hood?
bBOXD 03-24-2005, 07:53 PM Still unsure as what im going to go with once i sell the wheels, But something is in the WORKS. :)

a pic of the stock 15's in alot of snow ... the capital pothole of the world NYC ..any low frofiles rims would not stand a chance driving in and out of the Big Apple.
t0p_sh0tta 04-04-2005, 02:01 PM bBoxd, what kind of wheels are those?

Hope you like those...15" ENKEI RPOJ-2 rims
well I know Rota makes a copy of the Work Emotion... not that im for replicas or philippine wheels over japanese wheels... But they are quite light on weight, and on the pocket book.
2tone_xB 04-11-2005, 01:59 PM Filipino wheels over Japanese wheels? :silly:
