Anyone know how much a replacement windshield is going to run me? =(

Also, the chip+the surrounding 5 cracks springing from it are about the size of a dime right now... How long will this thing remain reasonably small?

That is bad... but my dad bought an 03 Passat and he didn't drive it for a week (he walks and buses to work a lot). The FIRST time he drove it after the day he drove it hom the same thing happened. The dealer was really cool and replaced it with a discount to make him happy. The car sat for another week or so and my dad took it out again.... IT HAPPENED AGAIN! I have never heard of that bad of luck. He has had the car three months now and he still has the cracked windshield in . :)

i just think the scion is really prone to that because of the angle of the windshield. its not like a rock can deflect off of it as if it were at more of an obtuse angle.

if a rock hits the windshield, its not deflecting anywhere :(

Thanks for condolances... I guess I'll be calling my dealer tomarrow =( ... I see another 5 hour drive to WV in my future..

Anyone had a windshield replaced on their xB already that can give me a close estimated price on what I'm going to be paying for the new windshield + labor? $$

AHH -the joys of FL :P If you have full coverage, your insurance company will cover any damage to your glass with no deductable and no ill effect on the price of your insurance :) It's the law :D

$420 including molding (ppg glass ... dealer molding) from All Star Glass (national company ... only one I could find w/ an aftermarket windsheild)

I know here in PA that if some truck kicks up a stone and you can get their license number, liability might fall on that other driver ...... What really ____es me off is those flat bed trucks hauling construction equipment, they do not have the decency to hose off there stuff and thus when they nail a pothole, the entire mud buildup breaks loose and bounces on the road .... IT SUX !

The rock that hit me (I assume) was flung from the tread of the gray jeep in front of me.. not much I can do about that.. And it's really not the guy's fault, just one of those things that happen..................................................... that f--ker.
